Two birds killed with one stone. My 11 yr old DTDs have made this cake for our church lunch tomorrow all on their own. We are resisting eating the rest because DS has plans for a jelly extravaganza. Just waiting for the jelly to set before decoration can begin.

Dds (7&8) were delighted to take part in this! We have made a spooky Halloween cake using the Cadbury's pebbles as the stones of the turrets - glued on with melted Dairy Milk.

It is far too long to wait until Halloween to wait to eat this so we will be forced to eat in tonight whilst watching Strictly!! Sadly there are three turrets and four of us....I feel a family row discussion coming on!!

Ps: For future reference it is never a good idea to turn your back on two little girls with a tube of strawberry sauce.....

We loved doing this - thanks! Grin

Meet "Pebbles the turtle". We made "Pebbles the turtle" using a basic vanilla sponge recipe (4oz each of sugar, self-raising flour, margarine, and 2 eggs plus a dash of vanilla extract).

Then pop it in a greased bowl in the microwave for 4 minutes!

A fantastically quick microwave cake that the kids can bake so easily.

Then the fun bit - buttercream (butter and icing sugar mixed together) and cover in Cadbury Pebbles which look perfect as the turtle shell. The kids loved getting involved - especially for this stage. The head, legs and tail are just shaped from ready-to-roll icing which was mixed with cocoa powder to make it a brown colour.

The end result - an impressive looking cake (we surprised ourselves by how well it turned out) which is quick, easy and fun to make and decorate with the kids!

The snorris household made a pinata cake :). (The Pebbles are put in after baking). My 3 daughters aged 10,10 and 4 decorated the top with the flower patterns.

Not the greatest cake in the world, but my 3 year old wanted to decorate her own birthday cake all by herself and loved the Pebbles so much that they became a integral part of the decoration.

We have had a very productive morning. DS 11 decided we should do a beach theme to go with the product name.
We made a jam sponge and then coloured some icing. DD 8 rolled out the icing to make the sea , sand and a sandcastle.
DS then put 3 little pirate figures on , made a flag for the sandcastle and dd 5 decorated our beach with lots of pebbles.
Thanks for letting us do this we have had a great morning. We now have desert for after lunch.

This is our effort! 3 birds killed with one stone- tester, welcome home cake and experiment with mini hemisphere cake pan. The red bit is meant to be Earths molten core! Kids had a great time sticking pebbles on. I should have known that we would be out-created though-Your cakes are amazing!

We made Pirate Treasure! Melted dark chocolate, mixed with popcorn, raisins, crushed biscuit, peanuts and of course Cadbury's Pebbles. Popped them in the freezer for 10 minutes and arranged them in a treasure chest !(I may have helped slightly at this point Wink )

We made a 'cheesecake' covered in mice. OK, so it was a lemon cake, but the mice had ears, tails and even eyes.

Then my daughters made some footprints on biscuits.
