If you weren't lucky enough to be chosen for the Toyota Verso test drive (or somehow managed to miss it!) never fear, we're now on the hunt for 8 Mumsnetters to take part in a 2-week test-drive of the new Toyota Auris Icon 1.8 Hybrid.

Here's what Toyota says about the car: "In the Toyota family, the Auris is the compact family hatchback with a difference, packed with attitude, fun for the kids and even more fun for you."

For more info on the Auris please visit Toyota's website.

This test drive is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child under 16.

The test drives will be split over 2 waves - 15th - 28th June and 29th June - 13th July. So please only apply if you're around for the duration of one of these waves, and indicate on the sign up form which dates you'd prefer.

Those of you who are selected to take part will need to pick the Auris up from a dealership in one of the following locations:
Manchester
Oxford
Edinburgh
South London
You can either leave your car at the dealership or arrange for the Auris to be collected from your home after the test drive.

Testers will be required to post regular feedback (at least twice a week) on a thread on Mumsnet and also take photos of the test drive. The photos may be used on Toyota's pages on Mumsnet and possibly elsewhere.

Additionally, we'd like 5 out of the 8 testers to take video feedback throughout the test drive on their smart phone. The videos will need to showcase all of the features the Auris has to offer, specifically how it feels to drive a hybrid. If you're happy to take video footage please indicate this on the sign up form (link below). Each of the testers making videos will receive a £30 Love2Shop voucher as an additional thank you!
The videos will be used on Toyota's pages on Mumsnet, hosted on YouTube and possibly elsewhere.

Small print:
In order to take part in the test drive you (and anyone else who will be driving) must:
~ be a UK resident
~ be aged 21 years old or over
~ hold a valid UK driving license
~ have no convictions for dangerous driving.
A driver declaration form will need to be completed; proof of identification and a valid driving licence (both photocard if applicable and paper part) will also need to be presented upon collection of vehicle and continue to be valid before the winner can take the test drive.

So, if you'd like to test drive the Toyota Auris please sign up here.

We'll be in touch with those selected by 11th June. If you're not selected, there will be more opportunities coming your way so do keep a look out!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

why does it have to be someone with a child under 16? sad

Ponders Mon 03-Jun-13 11:52:53

I will have a child at home from 15th-18th June but a) he's 20 & b) then he's going away for the summer

<lies down, drums heels & shrieks>

IwishIwasmoreorganised Mon 03-Jun-13 12:05:59

Too far for us to collect sad

DH is v interested in hybrids so this would have been a good one.

CycleChic Mon 03-Jun-13 13:20:13

Bummer, we're going away 20 June, returning 8 July... I don't suppose I could test drive for the first week of the first round and the second week of the second round? No?

AnnoyedByAlfieBear Mon 03-Jun-13 16:31:41

Signed up!
smile

Ooh, signed up and FX!

ChocolateOrangeforDd Mon 03-Jun-13 17:29:56

What a shame! We are actually very interested in buying a new small car for Dh that it would be possible for Dd aged 19 and Ds aged 17 to drive....but as they are not under 16 years, we are excluded. sad

Done! Well up for this.

An auris is actually on my list of "new cars to test drive" so fingers crossed!

RenterNomad Mon 03-Jun-13 18:55:55

<fluckers lips, to make up for the hybrid's lack of engine noise>

LIZS Mon 03-Jun-13 18:57:19

Can you be more specific about where in "South London" ?

Ohhelpohnoitsa Mon 03-Jun-13 18:58:38

Have completed but am too far from those dealerships. Does that mean its an automatic no?

fallon8 Mon 03-Jun-13 19:06:51

Does a grandchild count? Or can I borrow an under 16yr old?

RenterNomad Mon 03-Jun-13 19:11:49

It's Jemca in Croydon, LIZS smile

What's fluckering? <may live to regret asking>

Yonihadtoask Mon 03-Jun-13 20:12:20

I'll give it a go.

Live with a bunch of petrol heads - so should be interesting smile

RenterNomad Mon 03-Jun-13 20:17:51

Raspberry sounds? blush It may be just a family word.

Pick me! Pick me! Forgot to mention in the application that my toddler's favourite game is 'brum brum' - we could get very cute video of him pretending to drive.

Shesparkles Mon 03-Jun-13 20:37:38

Ooooo I have 2 under 16s and can get to Edinburghgringringrin

GrumpyKat Mon 03-Jun-13 21:12:57

Ooh yes please. The second wave from Manchester would be perfect for us. One child under 16 and we have a couple of big journeys to do in that time too.

TrinityRhino Mon 03-Jun-13 22:54:36

I've signed up
the kids and I would love this
AND I would have to take a day trip to Edinburgh to pick it up and I've always wanted to go there but never have grin

MrsShrek3 Mon 03-Jun-13 23:02:35

omg omg you've just turned me into a quivering babbling thing. I was eyeing it up last week (and the verso that I want if I win the lottery lol)
I heart my Yaris but would love a go in its big cousins!!

aristocat Mon 03-Jun-13 23:49:55
