Following the success of the KS1 panel recruitment and book reviewing Pearson are now looking to recruit a total of 15 Mumsnetters with a child aged 8-11 who are willing to review books from the Pearson range with their child.

To take part you need to:

~ live in the UK
~ have a child aged from 8-11 - in KS2/P4-P7 (If you have more than one child aged 8-11 please choose one child to take part in this review with)
~ be willing to review (and keep!) up to 3 packs of books before the end of the year to review (this might go into Jan)

You'll be asked to take a proper look at the pack, read the books with your child, maybe get together with a group of mums to see what they think, and then submit your review on a special review thread on Talk. Panellists will be asked to submit their reviews within 2 weeks of receiving their review packs. You must review each book pack you receive. If you want to opt out of the project you can at any stage by emailing MNHQ.

If you are selected to take part, MN will email you to let you know. We will then pass on your name, age and gender of your child, and address details to Pearson for them to dispatch your books.

Each panellist will be able to keep the packs they review. Pack values vary from around £7.00 to around £30.00 and contain up to 24 titles. As a thank you for taking part there will be a monthly prize draw (on the last day of each month) for all those who have submitted a review in that month. The prize each month will be £50 of John Lewis vouchers.

The reviews will be used by Pearson to help promote the books to other Mumsnetters ? they will link to the feedback thread from the book shop pages and will feature the reviews you send in on the site. Pearson also say "we want the reviews to help us refine and improve our selection of packs for the shop, so if a particular programme is receiving rave reviews, we'll add more titles into the shop and if something isn't being received well, we'll use this feedback to refine our offering."

So if you and your child would like to take part please add your details here

The first packs will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks MNHQ

Blimey, there's a first, I am the starting person to have done it.
I think you need to have a look at your questions. I had two answers to two questions that are exactly the same.

I noticed that too rips

Have given details, DS2 is a voracious reader (I like that word!) Grin and I'm having difficulty finding books for him.

My sons would love this. Shame though that both of them can't do it but I know they will all read the books!!!! So have chosen the eldest!!!!

Are questions 12 and 13 identical? I only filled in q.12 as it looked like it had been duplicated in error.

done, one of the questions further down is also repeated, about whether you work etc.

Done, it'll be good to get DS to branch out a bit with his reading choicesGrin

I have just entered (still has 2 identical questions) as DD is always complaining she has no books to read even though we have 100's of books in the house.

Completed for DS1 - in year 3, very able (despite some communication difficulties) and will be 8 in a few weeks. I remember there being some discussion in the last thread about how the ages didn't really correspond with school year all that well for the purposes of this test.

Oh (disappointed) .. why does one always, always have to live in the UK for these competitions?

A note to Mmnset HQ and companies promoting products:

the Internet is worldwide and not confined to national boundaries
many mumsnetters are based abroad
many of us expat Mumsnetters spend considerable sums of money in the UK via on-line sites!!

Thank you!

Does it have to be 8-11? Couldn't do the last one as DS was 7 and in KS1 and now he is in KS2 but his 8th birthday isn't until November.

hope we get chosen for this. DD could do with a better variety of books to read.

I put nine as he is about to be nine. Hope that is OK? It didn't have an "age at" date.
