TMI alert! Have had a very bad tummy bug and am left in a position where venturing more that 30 seconds from the loo would be a foolish risk. I've decided that the water I'm drinking is passing through my body at great speed so in a rash moment I've swallowed a round piece of floaty plastic to time how long it takes to come out. I'm mad aren't I, too long on the sofa with only flat lemonade and salty crisps for company I think.

Solid things pass through your stomach to your intestine and out of your bowel.

Wee is filtered out of blood - so tiny tiny things (sugars, protein, fat, the colour that makes beetroot red apparently) and water pass into your blood and excess water and waste products are filtered out by your kidneys and make wee.

If you we out the plastic thing you need to go to your doctor immediately.

She's not worried about wee, Trillian - tummy bugs make a lot water pass straight through the digestive system (hence the problem of dehydration)

Sweetcorn, I so should have posted before I swallowed the bright red plastic! Now I feel even more of an idiot! And no I wasn't expecing it to come out in my wee, can you imagine the pain of passing plastic down a urethra ooooow! If I don't get better by the afternoon I shall have some sweetcorn! (I am a science geek, just thought I would liven up a day of sitting on the sofa!)
