We set up Nordic Model Now ! in the wake of the backdoor legalisation of prostitution in the Leeds Tolerance zone.
Other boroughs are now considering introducing these zones.

We are marching on May Day in London, to tell the sex trade that prostitution is not an answer to the poverty of women and children.

Exactly ! Normalisation - so that your child if not very academic, could be offered the option of 'brothel work' as a career.
Or an unemployed woman could be forced to take brothel work or face benefit cuts.

If prostitution were legalised, women could be told that they should be sex workers instead of claiming benefits.

Hi EveryoneElsie- well the gist is
1.Decriminalise the women (mostly women) as they're victims.
2..Criminalise the buyers- as demand from men to have sexual access to women is the primary cause of P.

1. Implement Exit packages for women - income support, counselling, job training.
   

We think the Exit packages are key to help women avoid this abuse.

We are part of a global coalition of groups fighting for the Nordic Model after seeing the success in Sweden, Norway and the disasters that have happened where it's been legalised eg Germany, NZ, Holland.
And we set our group up in March firstly because we were horrified at the introduction of the 'Prostitution Tolerance Zone' in Leeds and the proposals to introduce them in other areas.
We also felt that there was a lack of organisation on the ground to inform the public what was happening.
There are some good events coming up which you might like to come to.
The first is a programme featuring survivors of prostitution telling their stories at Conway Hall, London in July.
There'll also be a talk on the Nordic Model on June 19th.
