Hi,
Just had my 12-week scan last Thursday and am pleased to say that all three babies are kicking, wriggling, waving and ALIVE!!
They are the result of IVF (our sixth attempt) one singleton and identical twins from divided embryo - only had two embryos transferred so very surprised.
We are so happy but also nervous as have been told of all the possible complications/problems. The consultant has told us we will aim for 34 weeks as they won't leave them in longer than that. He also said there is a 1 in 4 chance of one twin taking the other's food and causing problems/premature delivery.
I would love to hear from anyone who has had/knows someone who's had similar experience!!
Love, Barbarella XXX

Congratulations!! I dont have triplets but have ID twins who had the TTTS you have mentioned. I was told to expect early labour but ended up being induced at 37 weeks. I am sure you will be very closely monitored. There once was a lady at my local twins club with the same combination that you have and her boys were fine. All us Mums of twins were in awe when she walked in!! Good Luck.

Hi. Congratulations thats wonderful news! My twins are the result of IVF. We had 1 mum in our twins club who had triplet girls (inc. id twins)

It would be worth you joining TAMBA. I am sure there will be others expectant mums in your position.

Also CARE have a website with a Bulletin Board. I know one mum on there who has recently bought home triplet girls.

Good Luck!

Wow, congratulations!!!

I also have id twins and had no problem with ttts, it may affect 1 in 4 sets of twins but I'm pretty sure it adversely affects only a tiny percentage. I would try not to worry about it and concentrate your energies on looking after yourself!

Congratulations, what wonderful news! Multiples are amazing, I have non-id twins and every one makes such a fuss of them, I am sure it will be even more so for triplets.

All I'd say is don't just take your consultant's word for everything esp. on when you'll deliver. He may be right but just look into everything yourself independently to be sure he is doing what is best for you and your babies, not just for himself. Obviously he knows what he is talking about but sometimes obstetricians can have different opinions to paediatricians, for example. Ask for a second opinion on stuff.

He may say 'we won't leave them in longer than 34 weeks' but it is not up to him!

Good luck

Dear B congrats on having 3 ,
Put the other way your babies have a 3 in 4 chance of NOT having a problem.
I have had someone at class who went to 35 weeks with 3 babies.
Just take a big breath rest when poss and get used to frequent scans. If you have time get jackie clunes triplet diaries and read I sleep at red lights, a very funny account by a dad of triplets.
I hope to review this for twins uk soon.
best wishes
