I'm 18wks pg with twins and tbh you can just about make out I'm pg, I really thought I'd be much bigger than this considering. I'm now beggining to think maybe something is wrong with one of them. I saw the MW 3wks ago and we could just about make out 2 heartbeats, do you think it would be alright to see her again? I've not got my 20wk scan until 22 Oct and I think I'll go mad with worry by then. Was anyone else really small to begin with?
Thanks Caroline

I wasn't particularly big with my twins. If it hadn't been for an early scan I wouldn't have had any idea going by my size. They weighed 6lb 8oz & 7lb 3oz at birth so weren't exactly tiny either! Obviously if you are worried have a word with your midwife.

agree with snorris - there was nothing to suggest i was any bigger than a singleton preg (am 19 weeks with baby 3 at mo and i THINK i am bigger this time round). Obv ask MW if you are properly concerned, but otherwise enjoy this time when you don't look like a barrell with legs!

Agree with Neerly3, enjoy it while it lasts and before the barrell look and all the aches that go with it set in. If you are worried of course call the midwife. Good luck

Agree again. When I told people I was pregnant with twins they didnt believe me!! I started to get much bigger at around 22wks and was so huge by the end I couldnt drive as my feet couldnt reach the pedals due to my bump being in the way! Good Luck!!

Thanks everyone, feel alot better now. I'll probably look back on this and laugh when I'm the size of a house!
Cheers Caroline

I was the same as you, I didn't look pregnant until I was about 20 weeks, and after then I went through a phase of looking "chunky"!! Even when I was nearly full term, people would say "Oh they aren't going to be very big are they?!"

Anyway they were both six and a half pounds at birth so I was actually carrying nearly a stone of baby!

Try not to worry, we are all different!!!

I am 28 weeks and people cant believe I have twins. At 25weeks they were estimated to be 1 lb 13 oz each. And in the last 2 weeks I have lost 3 lbs. I cant eat enough to keep up with the growth spurts. Acidity is the enemy. Doc says it is all good!

Having twins really took it out of me. I only put on one and a half stone and looked like an anorexic with a huge bump! With my first DS I put on two and a half stone. The twins were fine, it was me who suffered. I think I perhaps should have eaten more but it was so stressful I wasnt extra hungry or anything. I also hardly slept towards the end which probably didnt help either!

Patti... that's just the way some people carry during their pregnancies. I work with lots of mums expecting twins and the bumps come in various shapes and sizes. I wouldn't worry my lovely.
