You work it out. It's really weird at first you're not sure which is which then suddenly you notice a pattern in the way that they kick and where they kick.

DT1 used to thump and thump and thump at DT2 until eventually he would wallop her back and she'd be quiet. Then after a while it would all start again.

They are like that now (and they're 4).

once you start having regular scans you will probably know which is on which side.

I could hardly feel one of mine - but it was reassuring to see him flinging himself around on the scan even when I could feel nothing.

once there is less room for them to move around you tend to know which is which. One of mine hated being layed upon and would kick his brother like mad if I laid so that he was underneath. Early days I used to feel one quite high up and the other was lower. Later on I could really feel their heads pushing on my ribs.

I had 20+ scans, knew exactly where each baby was located and yet could never work out who was moving

I am 33 weeks PG and have only just worked out which baby is moving when. Was convinced my little girl never moved but at last scan realised that her legs are going over the mid-top of my bump so what I thought was the boy is actually the girl. I did spend a lot of time worrying that I didn't know both were moving but just accepted that this is one of those things with twin pg.

I have a boy on the left and a girl on the right. I am 35 weeks now and while the boy moves all day, I can barely feel the girl moving a lot of the time.

But at scans she moves like crazy. I think she is basically positioned behind her placenta so it's hard to feel her just by touching my tummny.

Like neenz I have accepted that confusion over whose moving and doubts about them moving at all is part of having twins. But I always mention it at my scans so they take a good look at her. Mind you she moves so much at scans they do have trouble! Which is a good thing!!
