Did your twins share a cot??

Trying to fit twins into a 3 bedroom house occupied by 5 already 😂😂
Did you put your twins in together to start with? If so what age were they separated?
Is a cot divider worth the money?
Thanks x so many questions!!

Never used our cot divider (don't see the point - they always ended up snuggled up together anyway). They shared a cot until about 5 months (at first a co sleeper and then a normal cot). Put them in their own room just before 6 months

Was it advised at the hospital/by midwife? Or just something you had decided to do?

Yes mine shared - no cot divider - for a couple of months. They were sort of diagonal like two little commas ,, in the cot rather than side by side if that makes sense, and I'm frobaga so they didn't get under each other's covers. Always rolled together though, so sweet.

My twins shared a cot, which was attached to the side of my bed for the first year or so.

No cot divider; I think it'd just get in the way.

At first they slept side by side, the side by side across the cot, then feet to feet. I think we moved to two cots at about a year.

Having said that, they both spent more time in my bed than in the cot. My husband had an alternative bed to use to get some sleep (it is pretty relentless 24/7 for a while at the start! There was no different between night and day in our house, so husband kept elsewhere to be able to function for work).

Congratulations!

Ours are three months old and still sharing their cot at the end of our bed, in grobags too, no cot divider. We have them side by side on a diagonal like a PP said

My twins shared a bed till they were 10, despite having their own beds. I think you'll be fine!

Yes my twins shared a cot bed until they were 5.5 months, basically until they could roll over. We put them on their own cot when we woke up to find one of them with his head resting on his brothers bum!

No it wasn't advised by anyone. I think it was just more practical for them to share the same space. And they had just spent 9 months properly squashed up together - it just didn't feel right to separate them!

I can imagine they look pretty cute in together, and space saving is a great idea for us at the moment, we will have a cot bed so it will be plenty roomy enough.
I love grobags so I will definately be using those too.

Mine shared until 14 months. They were swaddled and side by side for the first 8 weeks then in sleeping bags side by side. We moved them to their own bedroom at 7 months and into their own cots and they wouldn't settle. So we put them back together until they were 14 months then side by side in separate cots. They are 4 now and have a double toddler bed which my husband made.

Yes until they went into their own room at 6 months. I would have kept them together longer if we had had a bigger cot bed type thing but space meant our cots were smaller.

I bought a divider and resold it without ever using it.

Mine shared due to saving space too (I only had one room in my house for the three of us). Until about 7/8 months when I moved house (they were very small though).

I agree with pp, mine are 5 now and I still often find them in each other's beds in the morning (they were distraught at the idea of their own bedrooms when we moved house again recently - now they have a playroom and a bedroom).

Yes my twins shared a cot bed until age two, they are very small 😊
They are now 2.9 and share a king size bed as they want to be together. A single would be fine but if they are sick dh or I get in with them.

Not sure of sexes yet but do b/g twins still like to share as they get older?

We have bought 2 cotbeds but only built one to start with - let's hope they like each other's company
