When did everyone get things ready?

I'm nearly 28 weeks with modi twins and everything looks fine at the moment. I must admit though that it still doesn't seem real yet despite a big bump and have found the hospital to be very cautious.

I have not got anything ready yet - need to get all the baby things out of the loft, buy at least 1 car seat (maybe 2 if I want the car seats to be compatible with the double pushchair), and buy the pushchair. Also get a few little bits like another bouncing chair, playmat, loads of nappies and wipes etc. I have started lists of everything we need.

Could even do with getting another cot and highchair as imagine the first 6 months will be hard and we won't want to be building another cot!

Does 30 weeks sound ok to start sorting things? I've been pushing things off until it seems more real but beginning to think that it wont' seem real until they are here safe.

I did a little bit every week from about 26 weeks - like sorting/washing DS1's old clothes and making sure I'd plenty of cot sheets etc.

I packed my bag around 30 weeks - I like to be organised! Plus I'd a busy toddler on the go so I had to take every chance I got.

Bouncy chairs are a lifesaver here - my twins are almost 5mo and they've been in theirs every day since about 5 weeks old!

My waters broke unexpectedly at 35+6 and babies were born 2 hours later by EMCS.

I was glad I had things organised because there wasn't much time for anything once we got home!

Good luck, exciting times ahead Smile

Buggy ordered at 30 weeks
Cots and mattreses at 32 weeks and assembled
Car seats were bought in a sale around 24 weeks
The other bits throughout my pregnancy.

I started getting my bag together at 28 weeks but never finished packing it, I went into labour at 34 weeks.

I was very very paranoid that somehting would go wrong and in the end didn't do much until about 30 weeks, ordered the buggy, car seats and cots. I had them the next week at 31 weeks. They came home at approaching 37 weeks so we did manage to get it all sorted before they came home!

Definitley get another bouncer - you will use it from the day they get home, and without putting the fear of god in you, at 29 weeks with mo/di that may not be thaaaaat far away!

Good luck:)

I also only just ordered everything at 30 weeks as i was paranoid something would go wrong. When i started getting anxious that things wouldn't get done in time, I did everything within a week! But if i had to do it all again i would start earlier as i am shattered so finding it hard to now sort everything at home ( wahing up all the baby stuff, organising the nursery...).
I'm leaving all the building/ putting together stuff to dh whenever he's got time.
