Okay - anyone seen this yet? I saw it at midnight and just wondered what peoples thoughts were.

How was it? i am hoping to go tomorrow, my expectations are unreasonably high!

It was good - I won't spoil anything for you. The special effects were amazing, I really wanted the Volutri scene to be longer and there was also a scene in the book that they didn't put in which I was disappointed in. Robert Pattinson looked as hot as ever and Kristen & Taylor did a really good job. I'm looking forward to Eclipse more though as this is my fav book and obviously there is more Edward. I'm going again at 17:30 today with my daughter. Hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think.

I'm glad it was good, i read that stephanie meyer (author) thought they did a really good job of the film. which scene did they leave out? don't worry, i have read the books so you won't spoil it for me! my dd is desperate to come with me but she is only 8, do you think she would be scared? she has seen twilight many times and adores it. how old is your dd?

***SPOILER ALERT***

The scene they left out was when they return from Italy and the Cullens are waiting at the airport. My dd is 12 but my friend who I was with last night has an 8yr old and doesn't think she will take her to see it now, can't say too much really - don't want to spoil it for anyone else who hasn't seen it.

Was it scary? Or very 'dark'? I have tickets to take DD who has been dying to see it. Unfortunately she's having a tough time at the moment and and doesn't want to be scared. Are there any deaths in it? She's read all the books. I know nothing about Twilight.

How old is your dd? I personally didn't think it was very scary or dark, there is only 1 bit in it she may not like.

She's nearly 12. She likes things like Dr who etc but couldn't watch the last Dr Who atm. She's feeling a bit better the last couple of days and is undecided whether to see it.

If it's similar to the book it might be ok, she's a bit scared of the unknown atm. IYSWIM?

I saw NM on Wed night and thought it was fabulous!!

The budget was def bigger than Twilight. They all had better hair, clothes, cars and the special effects were great too.

I did jump (and my LO too - 28wks preg) a couple of times when the wolves came on the screen. They are a little scary if you are a wuss like me!!

Edward looked gorgeous....drool! And yes the Volturi scene was great too!

I am wondering when I can sneak out and see it again, DH just doesn't understand!!

Agree with esselle about the hair/makeup etc - much better this time

However as a Team Jacob member I thought the best bit was when Bella slaps Paul and then he and Jacob change to wolves - even though I have seen it hundreds of times on the trailer in the cinema it was just awesome!

The bit that made me laugh the most was the vision that Alice showed Aro but I won't spoil it for anyone!

And much as I hate to disagree with the majority of this forum, Jacob is by far the HOTTEST monster in this film! Edward pales into insignificance compared to the big bad wolf!

Oh my god, have just got back from seeing New Moon, did anyone else shed a few tears? I thought it was really emotional and totally brilliant. Jacob was seriously hot, i think i may have been converted to Team Jacob.

Think I cried about 3 times!

Dear Lord where do I start?

The hair and make up was not good. The vampires all looked liked they'd been attacked by a psychotic clown makeup artist studying NVQ level 1 in waxwork painting.
'It's OK I'm a professional, I'll just daub you in sudocreme and then roll you in a bath tub of talc and you'll absolutely look like stone. oh yes'

And talking of skin, what the chuffing nut jobs is with the tinkly music that corresponds with the twinkly-skin-in-the-sunshine scenes? FFS, their skin sparkles WE GET IT. All they need to do next time is put up a caption SPARKLY SKIN at the bottom of the screen. Maybe we'll have a signer for the deaf signing it as well.

The clothes were heinous. Alice's coat was super gak, Carlisle in his cardy lololol

The hair...jeez louise... wig wig WIGGY WIGGY WIGNESS The actors that play the cullens are all GORGEOUS in rl why do they all look like super freaks Ellenetted to within an inch of their lives in the film?? <wails>

What else...

Oh Alice's vision scene of Bella and Edward LOLOLOL man I had to pull my jumper over my head so I didn't barf into my bucket of popcorn. And WHY was edward dressed up like a 17th century farm boy?

Didn't like the wolves.

I did like the volturi. Michael Sheen is very good. Lovely and menacing. Could have watched much more of them.

Not that great overall imo considering the budget and the hype. Mind you New Moon is the dullest of all the books. Let's hope the next one with a bit more vampire on vampire action is a bit better.

Oh and I'm now in TeamCharlie. I dig his moustache.

i thought it was brilliant way better then twilight. Some intense scenes with some humour too. Definitely thought jacob looked hot even though im a team edward fan. want to go seen it again but dh will prob take the piss wish i had a dd :-(

During all scenes involving the Cullens try to work out if

Total wig mass + 500g hair spray per wig + 1 (large) tub of sudocreme + incendiary device = ? enough kilowatts of fire power to incinerate a real vampire

Loved the film but a couple of bits bugged me (Do not read below if you haven't seen it!!)

The sparkly skin, same as Twilight. To be honest, if they were just v pale with a load of that Virgin Vie stuff they shove on your arms at their parties they would look better. The CGI twinkly just looks crap

The bit where Bella sits in her room - in the book I felt for her when Edward had taken everything - in the film you just see him taking away the picture. OK so I'm sure everyone there had read the book, but I think the voiceover could have said something along the lines of "when he said it's like I never existed he meant it - I didn't even have a single pictuer left, he'd made sure of that, nothing to say he'd ever been in my life"

The pained (constipated?) expression on Edward's face - I love Edward the character, but RP is doing his best to put me off!

The cringing Alice vision, I almost inhaled my M&Ms snorting at that one.

Wolves were great.

Victoria looked right in this film - the flame red hair (unlike Twilight)

Loved the banter with Charlie and Harry

I'm a new fan! Watched the first film on DVD this week (twice) and bought the books, which I've just started reading. I saw the new film at the cinema this afternoon.

Am I the only female on the planet who doesn't find the vampires remotely attractive?!

I think Charlie's quite cute though. I must be a regular ordinary kinda-gal!

I was in a cinema surrounded by tweenie Team Edward fans and it could feel the daggers into my back when I laughed really loudly at Alice's vision

Agree with housemum about Edwards expression throughout the film - he was doing a lot of Joey's 'smell the fart' acting in this one.

And what did they do to Jasper's hair??

Agree the Alice vision was PAINFULLY cringesome. The cinema was laughing loudly. Even those who had squealed loyally everytime Edward came on the screen. I just can't see how Breaking Dawn gets filmed because the whole thing will be hilarious.

The Cullens and especially Edward seemed less real this time and make-up not so great. Previously Edward was beliveably an Emo teen but not in New Moon.

Taylor was fantastic. Completely showed new depths. Some of his acting in Twilight was a bit wooden and I was worried but he absolutely pulled it off I thought. In fact he was sooo good I completely did not appreciate why Bella wouldn't just go for a big snog and tell the skinny bloke who has to DRAW on his six pack with a black felt-tip to sod off.

Of those of you who have read the books - where is the proper Jacob and Bella kiss? Is it not in this one? I kept expecting it to happen.

roisin - if you go to New Moon please squeal in the Charlie scenes. I really felt for the guy as everyone else was getting a squeal at my screening.
