Does anyone remember a film called "Dancing thru the Dark"?

(12 Posts)
It was set in Liverpool and starred Con O'Neill and was about a couple going out separately on their Stag and Hen nights. It was so funny and completely brilliant. I watched this so many times when I was younger. Just wondered if anyone else remembered it.

ah used to love it.
Yes, it was very good. It's not the sort of thing that I would usually watch on TV but I got sucked in. The groom's (gay?) friend was a pretty scary, wasn't he? Con O'Neil is one of those men who are not particularly good-looking but are very attractive, lots of latent sensuality. <slavers slightly>
oh! i loved that film and always found it quite sad... even though she goes off with lovely Con O' Neill in the end... saw him in blood brothers a number of times!!! loved that too!

I've even got the soundtrack album somewhere signed by Con o' Neil... waited by the stage door to get it!!!! grin

It was wonderful, and remains one of my favourite films of all time!

Loved it, and bought the book of Wille R plays afterwards.....

Some of those films, like Educating Rita are absolute classics.

(we used to watch one every Saturday night, whilst getting suited and booted (and pissed) for our night out....halcyon days of studenthood.....)

It is brilliant isn't it? Not even available on DVD though. I have just bid for it on EBay on VHS.

Yes she jumps in the back of the van and escapes grim Liverpool for the lights of London with the delicious Con O'Neill.

Every actor in it was just brilliant and perfect for their parts I found.

Yes! Based on a play called Stags and Hens I think. Willy Russell maybe?
Very funny and very of its time.
Am I right in remembering the bride-to-be jumping into the back of a van and disappearing into the night with her new fella at the end?

If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
