We are TV novices blush.

We've seen Madagascar 1 and 2 and we all loved them and think our lives were very sad and empty before Moto Moto and King Julien came into them.

What else should we be watching?

Can I suggest the Miyazaki films? Beautiful animation. Ponyo and Spirited Away are my favourites.

Does it have to be a film?

I'm loving watching those 70s childrens shows with my dd - Bagpuss, Paddington, Mr Benn and Trumpton. You can get them all on DVD.

Any of The Land Before Time films. Oldies but goodies.

Noooo! Finding Nemo is horrible for the first few minutes - DO NOT sit down to watch this with him, without checking it out first. I agree, after the horrible bit, it is a nice film.

Jungle Book is great

I have the loveliest memory of what seemed to be a grandfather bringing his small grandson to see a Laurel and Hardy movie. He was the only child in the audience, and it was so cute to hear his high-pitched laughter, and as he was leaning forward, looking back to his grandfather to share his enjoyment.

We are doing a weekly movie night with our similarly aged son. our favourites so far for being non-offensive have been:

-the jungle book
-frozen
-cars
-Winnie the pooh

ones I personally thought were too old....monsters inc, toy story, finding memo, happy feet (which I also thought was pretty awful all around)
