DH sent me this book back from Afghanistan. It took my mum to read it after visiting me to finally read it myself.

I didn't warm to al the characters, the Dr's wife least of all, in fact I much preferred the nurses side of the story. I liked the continual parallel of the book although I felt that some things in the story happened very abruptly, almost to the point that there was some chapters missing.

McDreamy - just finished this last week and I really enjoyed it.

I felt that in this case, unlike other "parallel" books, the format did work and made it quite interesting. I agree about not warming to the wife and really liking the nurse's side of the story. I also liked the imagery used in the book - just created a great story.

I too enjoyed this book - not one I would have selected for myself, and again agree the nurse was good and the Dr's wife was cold and callous.
