Discomfort after ERPC

I had an ERPC yesterday and have had some mild to moderate period pains that went away with paracetamol.

But I also have a kind of bruised feeling internally in my cervix/uterus area. I can feel it all the time but even more when I press on my abdomen or suck in my tummy muscles.

Has anyone else had this? I can of course call the day surgery ward but don't want to unless it is something to worry about.

Hi CCH,

I'm sorry to hear about your mc. I had an ERPC back in January and I think I remember feeling like that for a couple of days afterwards. But I think it's worth just calling the day surgery ward anyway and confirming it's ok, just for reassurance.

Sorry you are going through this, it's a really hard time and I hope you are getting lots of support in RL too. I felt a bit off for about 4 weeks after the ERPC (although I know others who have felt fine straight away) so take it easy on yourself.

Hope you recover soon,

xxxx

Thanks GLB. I would have thought it normal seeing as they had to open and stretch my cervix but they said I would only get period-type cramping.

Think I will call the ward if it's still there tomorrow.

So glad I have taken the rest of this week off work.

Hi Loopymumsy.

That is reassuring, thank you. It is better now I've taken both paracetamol and ibuprofen so will stop looking for things to worry about! Won't call the ward unless it doesn't go away in a couple of days.

Sorry to hear about the problems you had after your first baby. Now I've had two mcs I am realising what you start putting your body through as soon as you even begin trying to conceive!
