How long after ERPC was it before you got your first period?

I had an ERPC following a MMC on the 1st April, so just under 4 weeks back, and have just noticed a little blood on wiping. I have also had the odd tummy cramp over the last few days.
I was told my first period would come 4-6 weeks after so I guess this is still maybe a little early. (will be 4 weeks on Thursday)

How long did others have to wait after the op before their period started?

Seems to have stopped again now so was obviously just spotting, but seems my period may be on its way.
Do you think I should expect it about now?
I just want my body back to normal!

Nearly a year but then the ERPC gave me Ashermans Syndrome.

Think it was about 5 weeks for mine to come back. It was a bit on and off the first time, but the next one was fine and then I got PG again I found reflexology helped get my cycles back on track again.

Completely understand about wanting your body back too....

So sorry you're going through it.

It took me two months for my periods to return. And pregnant again now. All going well - touch wood.

I am nearly 4 weeks post MM (1st April also), but only 2 and a bit weeks post bleeding, and actually only 1 and a half weeks since my spotting stopped, but I feel like AF may be coming. I am quite irrational and grumpy and seem to be crying a lot, and I have some brownish discharge, but I'm not sure whether this seems a bit early too... Fingers crossed, we'll see soon anyway. Hope it is for you too x

Sorry you are going through this

It took me 5 weeks post ERPC for my period to come, it was quite light. I know what you mean about wanting to be back to normal, those weeks really dragged and it is hard waiting.

After that first period, I went back to my normal cycles and the next one was very heavy and painful.

I think anything goes, which is hard when you just want things to be normal, but it can take time.

Take care xxx

I'm 5 weeks since ERPC tomorrow. Thought it was starting on Sunday, as I had some spotting then, but it is still holding off. I have pains like period pains but worse, much sharper. Late last night I was quite frightened because I'm worried what it is going to be like, as I keep feeling a bit sick and faint, too. Others on here have said the same, so wait and see, I guess. I was very low Sunday, like PMT, but better now although it hasn't properly started. I guess it will be weird until things return to normal.

I've had 4 ERPC and 1ToP and my period returned around 4-6 days later than normal except in one case when I had retained tissue. In that case it took almost 10 weeks for my period to come and then I bleed for a month (joy!).

Btw, Ashermann's is when the internal lining of the uterus adheres to itself. It is a rare complication of any uterine surgery (ERPC, ToP, D&C, c-section etc.)

Goodness, Ashermans looks quite common following MMC according to that site. I had never heard of it before.

Seems it has come this morning, 4 weeks and 2 days after ERPC. It seems quite light atm.

Hi,
I had 2 ERPC's in April following a MMC. I had one, then a week later had to have another as they found retained products. It's now been 57 days since the last ERPC and still no period. I just want to get pregnant again and feel like my life is on hold until my period arrives. Did anyone have the same experience?

This has reassured me. Am now just over 4 weeks since my erpc, with no af yet. I had virtually no bleeding afterwards so feel some anxiety that the erpc may not have been complete.

Sounds like I should probably only worry if still no sign in 2 weeks. Argh! Just want to get back to normal - took over 6 weeks from when I knew I'd miscarried to my erpc so I've lost loads of time on this.

Make sure you get checked out if you think the ERPC wasn't complete. They told me all was fine a week after my first ERPC, but I knew it wasn't by the pain and bleeding I had. After a fair bit of nagging on my part, they finally gave in a scanned me, only to find that yes, they had left part of the placenta behind and I had quite a bad infection. I had another ERPC a week later and was in hospital for a while on some quite nasty medication to clear the infection. Seems to me they put those of us who have had MMC's at the bottom of the pile in hospital and i've learnt you have to keep asking otherwise your forgotten!
Hope AF arrives soon for you, i'm still waiting......58 days it's been now
