Hello

We had our 12 week scan on the 25th February only to find that our baby had no heartbeat, they think that it died at 11 weeks or so. We are absolutely devastated by it all.

I had an Erpc just this tuesday and the waiting over the weekend was the cruellest thing. Physically I felt okay after the op just a bit drained and a few cramps but now my cramps are increasing in severity and the bleeding has increased. Do they check that they have removed all the tissue, I'm worried that there is still some left and I will have to go through another op.

Has anyone had a similar experience, any advice would be fantastic

Advice I don't have except to say if you feel unwell at all you should seek medical help - some stuff can be left inside but this may well be normal. You are the best judge of how you feel, any high temp, large clots or bad pain that wont go away with normal tablets needs to be checked out.

What I really wanted to say is how terribly sorry I am for you and your dh on the loss of your baby.

Thank you for your kind words, we're hoping it gets easier. I think the feelings/grieve will always be there but it just changes over time.

I think visit a to my GP is in order if for nothing else than to put my mind at rest

Hi Nimuee, sorry to hear you are going through this very upsetting time.

I had a mmc 10 years ago. We had a scan at 14 weeks only to find out that baby had died at 8 weeks. I had an erpc done the following day. I had very heavy bleeding the day after and was feeling very poorly and faint. Went back to the docs who sent me straight back to the hospital, had another scan only to find out that they had left most of the pregnancy behind. I had to go through the procedure all over again. So if you are feeling ill, high temperature and loosing large clots please go back to the hospital straight away.

I'm sorry for your loss and sending you lots of hugs, take care and look after yourself x

Thank you, I went to the hospital today & I do need to have a D & C again sometime this week. I can't believe that this is happening. I'm wondering whether it would be better to have a local this time rather than a general as I have quite a high reaction to anaesthetic has anyone had a local for this.

Nimuee I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC around this time last year and also had the ERPC. It was a very traumatic time and I can only imagine how hard it is to have to have the proceedure again.

FWIW I did conceive again in July and am currently 38wks. I still think of my lost LO everyday, but it does get easier. There are a lot of threads on here with women who are TTC again after MC (I'm on the Emmsy's one) and they really are a sanity saver. If and when the time is right for you to TTC again, I'd really recommend that you seek support from MN.

In the meantime, be kind to yourself, allow yourself to grieve and heal and take comfort from friends and family.

I had two mmc and two erpc's, the second time i also experienced bleeding and clots after it did turn out that they had missed a bit. This came naturally and i had a follow up scan 10 days later. I'm so so sorry for your loss.
