Hello,
I have just found out i am about 5 wks pregnant last week, this would be my 3rd pregnancy (1st normal i have a 2yr old daughter but 2nd ended in early mc). I started to bleed on thurs and went to epu who took my bloods. My hcg levels came back as 51 so they re did the bloods on sun which came back as 121 so they doubled! Now i have to wait until 23 dec for more bloods to see if they have changed! I am still bleeding and am pulling my hair out waiting!
Has anyone had this??
I still feel pregnant which after my first mc i knew that it had ended as all the pregnancy feeling had gone but this time its all still there and is getting stronger!! More weight put on, hunger, sickness etc!!
Can some one help????

Hello,

I don't want to scare you but I would go back to hospital and request a scan. There are a few reasons you may be bleeding but if your HCG is still rising there is a possibility this could be a molar pregnancy. GO BACK and demand to be seen. Bloods are not enough to rule anything in or out.

Look up Molar Pregnancy and just ask for them to rule this out.

hcg levels need to be at least 1000 before anything will show up on the scan. The OP has said her hcg levels were 121 so way off being ready for a scan. Molar pregnancies are very, very rare.
Many women bleed in early pregnancy and have normal healthy babies, some sadly end in miscarriage or ectopic.
Waiting for blood results is really stressful.
The initial doubling looks good though so try and keep positive.
Take care and GL

Caution must be used in making too much of HCG "numbers". Ultrasound findings after 5-6 weeks of pregnancy are much more predictive of pregnancy outcome than are HCG levels.* Chicago advanced fertility centre.

Either way, you are bleeding and waiting for a blood test does not seem to be calming your nerves. Go to your EPU and ask for a scan. At your gestation you should be able to see a sac and see what is happening.

I am not saying it is molar, but I am saying that if Charlii is worried she should push this and get a definitive answer.

Smac if the OP's HCG levels were 121 on Sunday then they should be over 3,000 by now so OK for a scan (although having just typed that I realise you meant that there wasn't much point in scanning on the Sunday, sorry!)

charlii If you are still bleeding then go back to the EPAU. Hopefully they will be able to put your mind at rest, but don't forget that this is still early days and so they might not see that much yet (and if they don't, it isn't necessarily bad news).

hello, i went to hospital(spent the whole day there!) and had more bloods and scan, which confirmed i had miscarried
Bloods came back as 17, which i was expending as all the preg feelings had gone.

But now i am starting to get them back, weight on again, sickness and breasts getting bigger etc.
Does anyone know what this can be, as i would of though all the preg hormone would have gone by now as it was only 17 on the 23rd??????????????

I'm 5.4 weeks and am positive I'm miscarrying but still have the preg symptoms too.
Apparently it can take a while for HCG to leave yous system.
Its also posible to miscarry a twin and be pregnant but as you've had a scan and your HCG levels tested that wont apply I'm sure.
Also as this is your third pregnancy, like mine, you are apparently more sensitive to HCG.
I cant guarantee any of the above is correct as its all taken from the web, I'm off to doc today.
