Need advice regarding pain

Hi,

Just want to ask a question, as some of you know I miscarriaged over the weekend, and this was confirmed yesterday (Mon) at a scan.

I was in a bit of a daze when they were talking to us afterwards, so didn't really take everything in.

I recall them saying it could take up to 7 days for the bleeding and the pains to stop.

I have had a splitting headache all day - is this normal?

Have taken strong painkillers as stomach cramps, back pain and headache combined have been pretty awful today, but it doesn't seem to be taking the edge off them at all.

Emotionally I feel pretty drained and numb - which I guess is a usual reaction.

Can anyone advise about the pains, or if there any medication which might be effective?

Thanks

so sorry - yes I think the headaches are quite normal, i usually manage with strong paracetamol type tablets. If you feel you cant cope with the pain and if you are maybe filling a pad every half hour then ring the gp/epu. It is hard both emotionally and physically, drained and numb yes. So stay on the sofa with lots of comfort things. As to the length of the bleeding, I bled for 14 days, it got gradually lighter to towards the last few days. Thinking of you.x

You are probably very dehydrated - drink lots of water and you could get a prescription for codydramol that was the only thing that worked for me.

take care
