Hi there, Im new to the boards and have been reading as much as I can on here, but never find a story exactly to match my own. From what I have read, I have probably had a miss-miscarriage, but am not certain. I am not sure when my period was due (I think my last one was around 2nd week of Nov). I started having mild nausea about a month ago, but it got worse and worse. Last weekend I started to bleed very red blood on urinating and wiping, but I wore a pad and it never had any leakage. The bleeding stopped completely on Tuesday of this week. There was no cramping or clotting during that time. My nausea is getting worse and I have the horrid taste in my mouth, my tummy feels bloated but I have no tenderness in my breasts. I did two ebay tests yesterday and today, both negative. I am 47 years old and rather scared about all this - whatever the outcome. I have kids already and this feels like I am pregnant. The smells sensitivity has also got much worse this week, coffee makes me what to heave and watching my partner eat brekky this morning, I had to turn away! Any advise would be appreciated. My drs are not terribly helpful here, so I would rather work this out for myself and then go see them. Thanks everybody xx

It sounds like there may be two possibilities Ilovechristmas, either you are pregnant and that was implantation bleeding or you have had an early miscarriage. I think the only way you can find out is either if they scan you in the local hospital or check the hormonal levels in your blood which would be decreasing

If you have had a miscarriage, then the hormones often stick around for a while. I felt sick for about a week after I started bleeding

I'm so sorry, all I can advise is that you definitely go see your doctor. They should be able to tell a lot even from a blood test. If your GP is rubbish you could ring your local hospital instead and ask for the early pregnancy unit and they should be able to help you.

Hi there!
This sounds to me as if you maybe pregnant as your bleeding was brief and has stopped, yet you still have all the usual pregnancy symptoms.
Some people have several negative pregnancy tests, even when they are pregnant, before having a postive one.
The bleeding maybe an implantation bleed?
May I suggest you leave it a few days and then do another test and see what happens?
If your GP is rubbish then maybe there'e another you can see within the same practice (you don't have to see your own) and say if you're not happy with the feedback they give - it's your body
Take Care

Thanks for the replies - it does help, I havent talked to anyone about it except my partner, as I said I have read alot on the boards, but felt so fustrated today, thought I should post, Curlywurlee - thank you; the sickness is getting worse, not even subsiding and Im so, so tired, guess that my age though! I have had normal periods since having my coil removed about a year ago as I had it in for the maximum time and never thought I might fall again. I had some clear mucus loss about 3 weeks ago, which I thought was strange? The bleeding was quite alot, Ive read on here implantation bleeds are more spotting? My lower abdomen is bloated slightly. We live quite rural, can I just go to a town a see someone in the hospital? I dont even think we have a family planning or whatever it maybe called now nearby. If my last period was around mid november, when should I be testing? I will leave it another week and do another test. I was wondering if it maybe better to get a more expensive test, Ive looked on here and all the kits seem to have mixed opinions, Thankyou once again for your replies, it means alot xx

Ilovechristmas, I so hope it works out for you. I think implantation bleeding is often just like spotting but some people have what seems like full periods.

It definitely sounds like you either are or were pregnant though. pregnancy tests seem to be all different. I got mine in boots and they were very cheap but did work.

What is the nearest hospital to you?

Its about 20 miles. I dont mind doing the drive. My friend is pregnant (I havent spokent to her about me) she went to the early pregnancy unit and they were not very pleasant to her. Im not bothered about the unpleasant, just want to know where Im going in my life!! Her pregnancy is very early, about 5 weeks. My problem is, I think, that I dont know how far along I am. The bleeding I had was quite heavy, but only when I went to the loo and bright red. I thought I was pregnant and actually had told my partner that night, then it started, so I thought it was all over, but the symptoms have continued, I also have the usual niggly aches in the hips that I remember from my other early pregnancies. I have never miscarried before. Thank you for your good wishes, what will be will be I guess I will certainly keep you posted.

Im going to see the practice nurse tomorrow. Ive decided I need to know whats going on with my body and the nausea and that horrid taste in my mouth (Im getting thru packets of gum!!) are to much over xmas. Im also worried that something might be wrong. I did another test this morning (admitedly about 11am as I wasnt going to do one this side of xmas) which again read negative. xx

I dont know if anyone is following my thread, but I wanted to let you know that I went and saw the practice nurse today and another neg on the wee test, no surprises!! She felt my tum however and said it is slightly swollen and it is slightly tender where my bladder is and the neck of my womb. The wee sample also showed some blood in it. I have to go back tomorrow for a blood test where she is asking them to test me for everything and is also going to have a chat with the GP. She is as confusned as me!! I wanted to post incase others are going thru the same. I have all the symptoms of pregnancy except the tender boobies xx

Hi Jinglejools - so am I, but the fact she was worried, worried me more!! I hate needles, so think of me tomorrow!! Funnily enough, the one box she didnt tick to test for was pregnancy? I think I may ask them to tick that box aswell tomorrow. xx

Could your symptoms be due to peri-menopausal hormones? That might be a question to ask your GP, too.

hello hudred christmaslights, sorry for not replying sooner. I have my blood test results this wednesday, I am more scared of not being pregnant, not that we wanted a baby, but as to what it can be. My boobies are definately changing, maybe I tested to early, it seems like an eternity!! JUUULE: I have asked them to test me for menopause aswell, although unlikely as I have regular monthly periods but can never remember the dates of them! ISRAEL: Im sorry to hear about that, this is my partners biggest worry although I have had no pain in my left side? I am sorry for your loss, my friend had one, but did go on to have 2 other healthy children My tummy is also quite large for me (I am quite slim so it has always noticed quite quickly for me). I am sorry if it is painful for you to talk about, but how did they find out it was ectopic in the end? Thanks once again for the replies, I feel terribly alone girlie wise as I dont want to discuss it with any of my friends as I dont think they would understand, nor, if I am pregnant, do I want to be pressurised into doing something I dont want to do. My partner is very supportive but not female, if you know what I meanxx

This morning I woke up feeling really sad, I felt like I would burst into tears at any moment and not sure how I would get thru the day. Tonight I have had a lot of cramps in my lower tum and know that my journey is at an end. I dont doubt I was pg at some point, I never felt I would have another baby but having felt this way, I wished I was. Im feeling very sad as I know what tomorrow will bring. Thanks for the replies, it has helped and I wish everone strength and love when going thu this. I am going to wait and see what the results say on wednesday but may well try again
