For anyone who has been through this and MC naturally, how long did it take for you to stop bleeding afterwards?

I was diagnosed with this last Monday and MC naturally this morning. TMI>>>> I passed lots of blood and about 7 or 8 large clots and then a few smaller ones. For the last 4-5 hours, the bleeding has been much lighter. Do you reckon this is the end of it? Or will I have more big blood losses and more clots?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies - this is my first post on here

Hi, and sorry you are joining us under these circumstances.

It depends a bit on how long you had been pregnant - when I miscarried at 8 weeks, I had one main loss of blood and clots, and then another smaller loss of clots the next day.

If you soak through a pad in under an hour, you do need to go to A&E btw, so watch for that.

Hope that the worst (physically) is over for you now

Thanks cmotdibbler

The reason I ask is because I really want to go to work tomorrow coz it keeps me busy and keeps my mind off things, but I'm worried about more clots in work. I never expected the loss to be as huge and violent as it was - so glad I wasn't in work when it happened!!! It was only diagnosed at 11 weeks, the sac was 3cm.

Thanks for the advice on the bleeding, I'll keep an eye on it

Hi, can't advise I'm afraid but just wanted to say sorry for your loss I also had a blighted ovum and had an ERPC on Tuesday. Despite this, I still had a lot of bleeding inc. clots. IKWYM though, it does make you wonder where all the blood comes from. I went back to work today. It's been ok - like a heavy period but not as painful.
