3rd mc - what now??

Can anyone tell me what tests I should expect once referred to recurrent mc clinic? Both me and DH had chromosomes checked and also I think they checked for lupus after my 2nd mc in Jan (I think they took pity on me). I will order prof regans book but I just wondered what peoples personal experience was. I'm miscarrying for the third time now and just want to have some idea before I go back to the hospital.

Thanks in advance.

Hi scotlas I'm so sorry to hear of your losses. Not sure exactly what the tests are as I am currently waiting for an appt for the same thing. Mc'd in Feb and again 2 wks ago. Had the lupus anti coagulant test done by my rheumatologist (I have inflammatory arthritis) and my levels came back slightly elevated. That was last month and I was still pg and my gp told me they wouldn't do anything as the elevated results could be due to having an inflam illness but if I mc'd again I would be referred. But 2 wks ago when I was at hosp when the spotting began the dr there said if my bleeding stopped to begin taking a 75mg asprin a day and she was going to pass my name to a dr at the hosp who specialised this type of cond. She said they would do lots more diff types of blood tests in more detail. Sorry I can't be of more help but didn't want your message to go unanswered. I just recieved prof regan's bk last week but tbh am not really in a good enough frame of mind to read it right now.

Look after yourself just now and I truly hope the hosp can give you a clearer picture as to the causes and hopefully offer you some help. Take care.

Thanks poppy for replying. EPU confirmed mc no3 today and I saw lovely mw who said she'd check my clotting in a couple of weeks once pg hormones are away. As I've got a 9yr old DD and all the other blood tests came back clear they don't seem to be planning anything else. I think she was recommending aspirin the next time, kind of getting to the stage anything's worth a go.

Good luck with ttc and fingers crossed it's third time lucky for you.
