Periods messed up following D&C?

History is I had a spontaneous miscarriage in August at 6 weeks. I got pregnant again in October (didn't expect it to happen so fast) but had a missed miscarriage. Went for a scan at 11 weeks but baby was only 7. I had a D&C a week later.

My first period a month after my D&C was the heaviest I ever had. My second period was due around the 11th (my cycle has never been really regular) but apart from a very small amount of brown spotting I've had nothing else.

Is it normal for periods to be messed up for a while following a miscarriage?
