Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

5 weeks pregnant, still bleeding!

So ladies, I need your help.
I recently found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago, so I am now 5 weeks pregnant. Then this week just gone has been hell!
Wednesday, I started bleeding and got cramps, by Thursday morning I had blood test done as I had bled heavier and the cramping got worse, I had also passed two clots and was then in a&e which more blood tests were taken!
Saturday, I ended up in a&e again with heavy bleeding and cramping, with another blood test and I got the result on Sunday morning that my hcg levels had in fact risen. I had to stay over night on Sunday, so they could monitor me and I had a scan booked for Monday morning.
I had my internal scan, every thing was alright as they thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy, which I was not thankfully!! I was still bleeding but not as heavy as I had been, still enough to change pads though.
But they did find the sac and yolk in my womb (shocked as it was as I thought I had miscarried) and they told me that it is sitting a little low in my womb and I was then discharged with a threatened miscarriage and a scan booked for another two weeks time.
What does this mean? Could I lose the baby still or what? Because the doctors didn't really help me out, just made it worse.. I wondered if anyone else has gone through this?
Because this is driving me crazy, not knowing if my baby is stil growing or not.

And bleeding at 5weeks this is when I got told that's when baby is properly imbedding themselves into you and also at 13weeks the bleeding was caused by the placenta wiggling it's way into my womb it's scary but not all the time it's bad news

Hi, I was 5 weeks on Monday, started bleeding on Tuesday (not particularly heavy, more than spotting but less than a period)....phoned Early Pregnancy Assessment unit, they advised that it was most likely a miscarriage and since 5 weeks is so early, there wouldn't even be much point in scanning me. Advised me to monitor blood loss at home and watch for signs of infection that could indicate that all pregnancy tissue hadn't passed naturally. I've since passed a couple of clots around the size of a 50p that I assume were the sac and placenta and am still bleeding lightly. I wasn't offered any blood tests to check my hcg levels or a scan to see if anything remains in my uterus. So basically it's just a wait and see if I get an infection or if everything settles down and my cycle starts up again. Such a frustrating time being in limbo isn't it?

Fingers crossed for you OP x

Hiya Hun you should have been offered a early scan go back to your GP express your worried sick and this isn't helping and he should be able to get you a a scan that day depending how early you visit

Thanks ladies, I've got my fingers crossed!
Yesterday's bleed was still heavy, but after today I'm hardly bleeding, it's now turned like a really dark brown and I clotted twice today, both small still. (Sorry for tmi)
Gonna phone the doctors and see what they say! Xx

Jobiness, just wanted to say I too am just playing the waiting game. It is so awful.

I am (was?) 6 weeks today. But Thursday afternoon I had some bright red spotting, following by progressively heavier bleeding which is now like a full on period. Saw my Doctor, for what should have been my referral appointment and tell him I'm PG. instead I had to tell him I'm bleeding. He said I could let nature take its course and see what happens or go for a scan. Scan is only open 9-1 where I live and my husband was at work and I couldn't get hold of him, so as I couldn't face getting the news on my own, I haven't been. So now I'm waiting to go next week.

I sit here bleeding. Pretending to be coping and carrying on as normal, but really I lay In bed crying at night. I dread going to the loo. I am googling everything about miscarriage and praying.

I am so sorry what you are going through and will be thinks of you.

Hey dirtydancing, thanks for your reply.
I was all okay, just kept a positive mind as my bleeding then turned into old blood, I woke up today to find I am really heavy again and i have clotted twice both times quite big.
So now, I think this is the end. What's worse is this is damaging my mind more than anything, all I have ever wanted was children and that's two miscarriages in one hit... So now this scares me.

My fingers are crossed for you, some people have a really heavy bleed, like myself and the baby is okay. All depends on where they implant too.
But my fingers are crossed for you and I hope everything is okay! 🙏🏻 x

An update ladies, after an hour of my post - I clotted a couple more times, which also led to me seeing the sac filled with fluid connected to a clot. I guess it wasn't meant to me 😕
