Hi guys,

So- I'm supposed to be just 6weeks. However, today I started bleeding- red blood. It's like a period. It's been going on for about 4 hours now. It's not mega heavy but it's definitely not spotting- more like moderate I would say. And it's bright red. I have got period like pain but not bad cramps or anything like that.

I assume that's that then right? Ironically I'm due to have an early scan at ePU tomorrow- is there any point in going?

Yes do go to the EPU Chattycat it may not be a MC.
I'm always wary of giving reassurance as MC is the most likely outcome but not always, I've seen posters say they have had haematomas in early pregnancy and have gone on to have a normal pregnancy for their remaining time.

Good luck Flowers

I bled like that early on in my first pregnancy. I assumed i had miscarried but in fact it was fine and i went on to have a healthy DD. You should attend your scan as planned and see what they say.

Definitely go to EPU. But bear in mind you may still (annoyingly) not get a definitive answer as six weeks is incredibly early. They may ask you to come back in a couple of weeks for a second scan. I have everything crossed for you. Let us know how you get on. Flowers

If the bleed is like a period then yes, it could be a MC. Saying that though I have heard lots of stories on here of people bleeding pretty heavily and the baby being fine!! So I agree re. early scan at EPU.

Good Luck OP xxx

Update-
So confusingly, EPU tell me that:

I haven't miscarried
I may be 5 weeks not 6 weeks
There are TWO sacs, each with a yolk sack- no fetal pole or embryo in either but they said it could be too early to see this if I'm actually 5 weeks....

So I'm totally confused now! Hmm

They also said the bleeding could be implantation which wpuld be more of it due to there being two sacs instead of one.
No idea whether to be positive or negative..,Confused

How awful to be left in limbo! Have the EPU told you to go back at all to check things.

Fingers crossed for you chatty, very much hope all goes well.
I bled regularly throughout my first pregnancy without it apparently affecting dd, but it was scary (and the was 37 years ago so no scans etc)

Your next scan will hopefully give you more information but it's neither positive or negative news OP. When is your next appointment?

2 weeks time for the next scan.

I thought I was 6 weeks exactly based on lmp, but I ovulate late, so it's lookng more like 5 weeks. I have no idea how to feel now!Confused we re flying to Tenerife on Saturday and I was really hoping to have a definite answer by then so I could have a drink (or not)!

Almost impossible I know, but try and enjoy the holiday, let it distract you. What will be will be and can't be changed, good news or bad.
