Low rising hcg - confused!

Found out I was pregnant after 2 yrs of trying 2 weeks ago, I had been spotting slightly for 4 days at this point (but I usually do for a couple of days prior to af). Went to the docs the following day as I need referring for early scans anyway, did hcg which rose from 75 to 140 in 2 days, repeated bloods 6 days later and 315, went for scan yesterday, nothing could be seen but hcg has risen to 420 4 days after the last ones. I have had heavy bleeding for a week now and had assumed I was miscarrying when I passed some tissue last tuesday so wasn't too surprised by the scan. The hcg levels are worrying me though, I have to have them repeated tomorrow. I suppose I just want to know what the reasons could be for the rising hcg if others have any ideas I would be grateful!

How did it go yesterday? I hope all is well. I had to go through repeated HCG tests too and I know how stressful and upsetting it is to keep having to go back to the hospital. Sending you lots of love x

Thanks for replying, unfortunately I've been diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, hcg is still rising and have opted for methotrexate. Feeling kind of numb again at the moment, the last 2-3 weeks have been such a rollercoaster!!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that :( Good that it's been spotted early and you can start treatment. Hope you have people to support you with hospital visits etc. Take care of yourself xx

Going through something similar. Did methotrexate harm your tubes? Did you try again?
