Hi all, I need some advice. I am on the contraceptive injection and havnt had periods with it. However last week I started to get spotting, on Sunday morning I woke up with very intese lower abdominal cramps, and very heavy bleeding. On Sunday night I passed what looked like a large sac, sort of greyish and bloody, with more very heavy bleeding and cramps. I just want to know if this is a miscarriage? And if it is what do I do now? I went to a and e on Sunday and he said was a stomach bug, and did no tests on me. Thank you in advance x

Can you go to your GP? Stomach bugs don't usually make you bleed vaginally, that person sounds like an idiot. Could he have thought you meant out your backside? His words make more sense then...

Do a pregnancy test as well. If you have miscarried then it will be a few weeks before the hormone levels go back to normal. If it's negative I'd still see your GP, it could be your injection.

Hi Greeneyedmumma. Sorry to hear about what you've gone through. It sounds like a miscarriage as to me as that is how I have heard people describe the sac looking. I would ring the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at your local hospital and see if they can help. It sounds like everything has happened ok naturally, but they may be able to scan you and/or take blood samples to check that you have finished miscarrying. Remember to take time to care for yourself. Even though you didn't know you were pregnant, you may still find yourself grieving xx

I'm sorry Greeneyedmumma, I realise reading my post it's a bit more 'things to do' then offering support. I hope you are okay and that it wasn't a miscarriage, if it was then I'm very sorry for you loss. Be kind to yourself. If you need support you can always comment back here.

Thank you girls so much for your kind comments and advice! I must say I wasn't expecting anyway, my update anyway, I did take a pregnancy test and unfortunately came back positive, so I now know it was a miscarriage. I already have one little girl and wouldn't know how I would cope with 2, but still I have been quite upset because of it. But I will pull through. Us mothers are strong. I have an appointment next week to see my doctor, thank you again x

Oh OP I'm so sorry. It's a terrible thing to lose a baby. If you want to talk at all feel free to PM me. I've been there and while no ones experience is the same sometimes it helps to have someone there. I will PM you a good site to talk to people on and read some posts on, if it helps.
