Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

What fresh hell is this? (way TMI)

I miscarried at the start of June, had medical management on the 14th (misprostol), thought the worst was over.

Bleeding settled within a few days but been spotting since then. Period started (or so I thought) on Saturday. Still a bit browny gunky but plenty of fresh red blood, like a normal period. I was quite happy as I thought this might move things on and things would settle down.

Just sat on the sofa and felt a 'gush' - I have been a bit more crampy today but wasn't expecting that. Dear lord, I know they said the first period would be heavier but really...?! I guess this is normal? I don't feel otherwise any more rotten than with my period but it just seems like a lot.

I have no experience so no advice for you, but if you don't feel it's right call 111, this is definately the type of situation this exists for.

My first periods post miscarriage (both first and second term) were awful!! They have the nickname of WTF cycles as they seem to be so unpredictable. It did settle down the month after though. Hope it improves soon, try and take it easy.

Just to add that if the pain becomes much worse, you feel feverish or the blood loss smells unpleasant you should get checked out.

Were they very heavy ProbablyMe? Its almost like going through it again, Ive soaked 3 maternity pads in the last hour and a half.

Very heavy. I couldn't move without another flood. Was wearing two pads at once for a few days. It did slow and stop eventually though and subsequent months have been much lighter. It wasn't fun and felt like nature was giving me another kick after the miscarriages though.

Sorry you had to go through that too.
Thank you very much for sharing that it's exactly how I feel just now.

my first periods post miscarriage WERE heavier but the EPU told me if I was soaking more than 1 pad an hour for several consecutive hours then I should pop back in. 3 in the last 1 1/2 hrs does sound a lot. Maybe call them for advice in the morning if still ongoing?

(I absoutely hated the first AF...the blood brought it all crashing back... Flowers for you

My first period after my tfmr was really, really heavy. Awful. It lasted much longer too.

They have settled down, back to normal now.

Such a relief to read this. Just having my first AF after MC and it's like a mini MC all over again. Bloodstained sheets, clots, ugh. It does also remind me vividly of what happened.

Good to know it's normal... I don't think my iron levels can cope with much more blood loss though!

I miscarried 2 weeks ago and am dreading my first AF as my periods are bad anyway, always flooding with big clots. I would love to get pregnant first to avoid it but know that is not sensible (and if only it were that easy)

I'm on day 14 of my first period post MC mid-June at 9 weeks. I miscarried naturally. This period has been much lighter than usual and much lighter than I expected but it's lasted about 3 x longer and still isn't finished! No idea what this means in terms of ovulation either. Sad
