Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Practical advice - what do I do?

Had a miscarriage in March failed SMOM 2 a&e trips and lots of scans. But now I'm pretty sure I'm losing another pregnancy at 6 weeks. Because of the above I'm keen to avoid any hospital drama. I assume it will just be a heavy period. Do I need to book a GP appointment and get referred or do I just need to wait until the bleeds stops and take a pregnancy test?
Practical only, I'm not ready to deal with emotional side yet!

If you have a bleed and once it stops or a few days after you have a negative test then you can avoid all the drama. If the test remains positive then you need to contact EPU. I would inform your GP though. God forbid you ever have another loss, you don't want to miss out on testing because this one wasn't counted. Shouldn't think you need to see them, ask for a phone consult and get it entered on your record.

I misscarried at home, did have scans after to check nothing was left but very little hospital input, I did need some good painkillers as I had some painful contraction type pain and I was in bed for a day or two, I don't want to worry you, and no two experience are the same but I wasn't prepared for what I experienced and I found it really scary and worrying as I thought it would be like a period and it wasn't. I really hope, physically, it's gentle for youThanks

I have miscarried twice, both times at home. The first pregnancy was 6+ weeks and the second was 9+ weeks. Both were painful but totally manageable at home with cocodamol.

If you miscarry at home you'll need maternity pads and possibly pain killers. Someone on mn recommended taking extra iron and I found it helped me.
Also take care of yourself mentally. Do whatever you feel will help. I just wanted to watch crap tv and pretend noting was happening. Hugs.
