Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

surgical management -how long bleeding after?

I'm nearly 2 weeks post mva (it's like a erpc but done without the ga). They said I could bleed for 2 weeks after the procedure but I had hoped that this was worst case and it would be less. I don't have a heavy flow now but I'm still getting red blood and I'm a bit fed up with having to wear towels rather than tampons. Also feeling impatient that it's still a sign that my cycle isn't back on track.

Hi Autumn. I've had two natural miscarriages and one ERPC and two weeks was always the length of time I bled with all of them! It must just be the general length of time it takes to shed the thickened lining.

I had this idea that opting for surgical would mean I hardly bled a all but that wasn't the case for me.

So sorry for your loss xx

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry that you have experienced losses.

It's 2 weeks today and I still have light bleeding. Hopefully it will just become a slight discharge over the next week.

Sorry for your loss, I had about 2-3 weeks, then continued to spot until I got my AF about 30 days after erpc so it may not effect your cycle coming back

I did have some strange spotting in the middle of my first cycle post ERPC. I had the surgery (cd1) bled for two weeks and then my period arrived as expected on cd26. Around cd12 of the new cycle I started spotting and it lasted about five days.

I know I did get EWCM that cycle but I don't know if I ovulated or not. It did end up a good length and my second cycle (just gone) was totally normal and again was a good length (27 days). So expect your first cycle go be a bit wonky but by your second you will be good to go.

Wishing you lots of luck for another BFP xx
