How long should it take for misoprostol/cytotec to work?

Sad to find myself on this board but the various threads have been very helpful to me over the last few days.

I had it confirmed at the hospital EPAC that I was in the process of miscarrying on Tuesday morning - I was about 7 weeks but sac was showing about 6. I was told that the sac was very low and just above my cervix and was given a 4-tablet dosage of cytotec to take internally when I got home and another set to take after 24 hours if nothing had happened. I took the first dose at 11.30 on Tuesday. I had no heavy bleeding, if anything it was much less than the previous few days and I assume this is because the sac is now partially blocking the cervix. I took the second dose at midday yesterday. Still nothing now, 24 hours after the second dose.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning for a re-scan to confirm that everything has gone, but at the moment I know that is not going to have happened. If it was going to work, should it have done by now? Could I ring the EPAC and ask them to book me in for erpc tomorrow afternoon if scan shows all still there?

I feel physically fine, have had no cramping, pain, sickness, temperature etc. I'd just rather like to get it all over and done with.

Would be grateful if anyone could share their experience, or has any tips on what I could do to speed it up?

I realise that my post is way too late for you but I had the same. The misoprostol did absolutely nothing for me and I ended up having an ERPC.
