Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

No heartbeat :-(

Diagnosed with parvo virus a couple of weeks ago.
I had a blood clot 11 days ago and had a scan last Wednesday and baby had a heartbeat and was moving about.
Today went for a scan and no heart beat could be found :-(
I'm just full all sorts of emotions including anger.
They said I have to go back next week for another scan just to confirm. The baby could pass before then though.
I just don't know what to do.
I have 2 children.

lovespoon I am so sorry. How many weeks pregnant are you? It's normal to wait a week if a HB is not seen early on in case dates are wrong, but if one has been seen previously and has now stopped you should be given management options (natural, medical, surgical) straight away. It seems cruel and pointless to leave you in limbo.
The anger is a very normal response to a bereavement, which is basically what this is, with a whole load of physical unpleasantness and hormonal upheaval piled on top. It is really shitty luck to contract parvovirus whilst you are pregnant but it really isn't your fault.
I suggest you have a look at the Miscarriage Association website and the tips for coping thread here to decide what your preference is wrt management and then get back in touch ( even better get someone else to advocate for you) with the hospital to get things moving. If you need a confirmation scan for your peace of mind before doing anything active to end the pregnancy that's one thing, making you wait a week for no reason is another.

Sorry, phrased that badly, I mean before actively inducing the miscarriage.

I am so so sorry.
If you want to talk through your options, we are here to listen, I had a thread in chat called MMC, all the options are SHIT because that's how I felt having gone through that. I had scans weeks apart and I understand how hard that limbo is.

The miscarriage association were great at listening when I didn't know what to do.

I really am sorry that this has happened to you and your darling baby.

Thank you for the replies. I do believe baby has died, as heartbeat was there and baby moving.
Yesterday no heartbeat and was very still, hands by face.
They said it protocol and have to leave at least 7 days and re scan. I would understand if it was early pregnancy / or first scan but it's not.

I'm so sorry love

Seven days does seem particularly cruel. My circumstances were obviously different, but when I had a MMC at 11+4 (discovered at the 12+3 week scan) I was given a pill straight away and then back in hospital for medical management 2 days later. No further scans.

Surely if they know for certain, there is no need for re scans. How many weeks are you? Flowers

The same! 11 plus 4.. I've had an very early miscarriage before, but can I ask you if the baby was clear to see when it come out when it's at that gestation? Hope don't mind asking.

I am really sorry

I will say again the miscarriage association helpline is great. They answered questions the hospital weren't that arsed about answering.

My favourite person when I was going through the limbo bit was someone I have never even met. My sister shares an office with someone at work and she'd been telling her what was going on because I was updating her after my scans when she was at work. 'How the fuck can they just NOT KNOW and leave her like that. It is 2015'. I know there's so much waiting because time is crucial and we are all different, is not the exact science we are led to believe. But it is so hard.

Much love to you.

So, so sorry I didn't reply, love, I've just checked back on this thread.

How have you been? Hope things were as easy as they could be for you.
