First period after MVA- help please

Had a MMC Dec 23rd and opted for surgery under local (MVA). They scanned straight after to check no womb damage and there was minimal blood left in there.
Bled lightly for two weeks. Started this period 3 and a half weeks after the op.
It began very lightly and was on and off for a few days. This is now day 7 if I count from.first sign of blood - but day 4 of really heavy loss and cramps.
I suppose that this period took a while to get going but I'm feeling drained now and fed up. Is it usual for the first period after an MVA to be so heavy? Not sure how much more I can take Sad

Hi catbus

Sorry for your loss, like you I had a mva in December, awful awful time and bleed lightly for two weeks.

Just recently had my first period and it was painful dark and had clots in. I don't know why but I feel it's a good sign that my period has returned so fast.i ovulated the same length of time as usual as well.

I had a mmc and mva in November. My first period after was on 30th Dec and was surprisingly heavy, and lasted much longer than usual, so sounds pretty normal for me.
Just in case you're looking for a positive story, I got pregnant straight after that and am now just over 11 weeks, so if you do decide to try again it may well happen very quickly for you. My midwife told me that you're often more fertile after a mc, and that there's some evidence that you're actually less likely to have a miscarriage...

Hi ladies I'm looking for some advice had a mmc in the January and had my period not long after the mva op was on off for about 2/3 wks I've now not had a period since for 8wks I've taken test after test hoping it was because I was pregnant but had no joy, should it really take this long for my next normal period? Doctors don't give me much to go just seem to say it's different in every woman, but I'm just worrying that my body isn't returning to normal yet as we are desperate to try again xx
