Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Threatened miscarriage at 13 weeks

I was hoping that somebody might be able to help a bit. I am 13 weeks with my second pregnancy (I have a two year old daughter) and have had brown bleeding for the last two days. I have had an ultrasound today, and they reassured me that the baby looked to be ok, and they couldn't see a reason for the bleed. The bleeding is stop-start and is continuing today - and I'm really frightened that it's likely to lead to a miscarriage. I was wondering if anyone might have similar experiences. Thanks so much in advance

I am not sure that I will be much help but didn't want to read and run.

My friend had a bit of bleeding and her pregnancy is going along without any problem at all just now. She was told it was something to do with her hormones.

I really, really hope it all works out well for you and your baby.

I had bleeding all through my pregnancy and had a healthy DD. But do keep getting checked regularly, as I know it is really scary.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you so much for your help - it's really helpful to know it doesn't have to be disastrous.

Cathy hope it settles down for you. I bled from weeks 8-14 with my DS2 and having previously had a miscarriage was convinced every day it was all over. It's a horrible feeling. If you've had a positive scan at 13 weeks with baby developing normally then your chances are very good. Unexplained bleeding in pregnancy is quite common, brown blood tends to be old stuff coming away, and absence of cramping is a good sign.
Hang in there.
