TTC after TFMR - cycle gone mad, advice please

After CVS at 14 weeks we found out our very much wanted baby had a chromosomal abnormality, and DH & I made the difficult decision to terminate. On 2nd November I had a medical termination when our baby girl was 16wks, and we decided to start trying again as soon as possible.

First AF was delayed, as expected, and came on 8th December, and we started trying that cycle. My periods have always been pretty regular, 27-29 day cycles, with no bleeding in between times, but now I seem to be getting bleeding at odd times!

I had spotting on 21st/22nd December which could have been OV spotting, though I've never had it before... AF arrived pretty much on time 5th Jan, and ended on 12th Jan, but today and yesterday I've had more spotting. More of a dark brown discharge than red blood though. It's really worrying me!

I don't know if I'm getting the bleeding because:
A) we're having sex and my cervix is maybe weaker after the termination so it's bleeding?
B) there's something been left behind... But surely that would have caused bigger issues by now?
C) something else

It's stressing me out, especially as we're TTC again - has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Nessalina I've no personal experience of a 2nd trimester loss, but it is very common for a MC at any stage to screw up cycles for several months afterwards. If you've had 2 periods since the loss I think it's unlikely that there is any retained material. I'd personally give it a few months to settle down, but if it persists go to see GP about it and ask for a gynae referral. I hope your TTC is successful soon.

Good advice, and good to know it's not likely to be a retention issue, because that was freaking me out a bit... It seems like I'll just need to ride it out. I'm supposed to have a follow up appt with the consultant sometime soon, so hopefully she'll have some answers for me if it ever actually happens!

Not sure if you're still after advice but thought I'd just let you know of my experience following medical management of a MMC at the end of August last year.

I think I had my first period about 3 weeks after the miscarriage had finished. Then I had a cycle slightly over 4 weeks, then 4 weeks again, then 3 weeks. And then just before Christmas I got pregnant again.

So basically it seemed to take about 3 months to get back to normal, but at that point we conceived again which was amazing. Unfortunately we are now on the point of a TFMR as just discovered the baby has Trisomy 21 and we don't feel able to continue the pregnancy - incredibly hard.

I'm sincerely hoping that we are able to conceive quickly again this time. Good luck to you too.
