Hi i suffered a miscarriage in early september, i had a period 7 weeks after but only a very short light 1 (unusual for me). I then had my next 1 1st december for 5 days which was very heavy and very painful was gettig alot of clots aswell.

Then on 17th december i started spotting very pale pink when i wiped mostly, christmas day it turned more brown and thicker (tmi im sorry) but again still mainly when i wipe a fe specks on pad but thats all, today it had seemed to have stopped but ive had sex tonight and the condom was full of blood, so embarrased by it.

Im startin to worry about why this is happening, im not sure if its a period or what i havent had the usual period pains just a few little aches as i usually get when ovulating, after the sex i had like a stinging sensation in my right ovary area.

Obviously when i had the miscarriage i had an internal and a normal ultra sound and then same again 2 weeks later, would that of picked up if i had something like cysts etc, i know i shouldnt but been on nhs website scaring myself

I am going to try my best to get to doctors this week just so hard as only 1 female at my surgery who works part time so its just getting an appointment and i hate those personal consultations when the kids are with me :(

Sorry about your miscarriage, I hope you're coping ok. It could just be you are still getting rid of the clots and womb lining from your pregnancy. I've had two miscarriages and it is normal for periods to be a bit all over the place for a few months afterwards. Also the stress of the situation can affect your periods. However, if you feel there is something more to it (pain, infection etc) best to go to the GP and put your mind at rest. Hope that helps.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

It's totally normal for periods to be erratic for a time after (I think 6 months is quoted by doctors)

After my mc I didn't actually have any periods for 9 months so it can go the other way too.

I would keep a diary of dates when bleeding occurs, but if any pains, odd smells or anything out of the norm happens a trip to the doctors wouldn't hurt to rule out infections.

It's probably nothing sinister, just your body's way of adjusting. Distressing for you though Sad

Wishing you a happier new year.
