Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Anyone lost 5 in a row and gone on to have a sucessful pregnancy

Just lost my 5th in a row.

Wondering what my chances are now.

After the first couple I got the old 'just bad luck' line. After 3 I was told it was still more likely than not statistically that my fourth pregnancy would be sucessful. After 5 they don't really say anything.

Does anyone have a success story to share with me?

You poor thing, I'm so sorry.

My grandma had six miscarriages before she went on to have my uncle so it does happen.

Yes,

had my first (extreme birth), then miscarriages, trisomy 13, Patau syndrome still born, lots of late miscarriages/still born and a few early miscarriages, 28 and half week prem baby(died at four months), miscarriages, then two in a row,

so out of 14 15 pregnancies, I have three, first and last two.

Be kind to yourself, be prepared to mourn the former you, and good luck.

Would I tried for so long, knowing what we would go through, I know it was stubbornness , and I don't like being told no, it was very hard on eldest child, DH and myself, because we did get lucky, it was worth it, it was nearly a decade of my life, but we do really appreciate our children in a way that I don't think we would have, if they had come easily.

Please be really kind to yourselves, and do what ever makes you de stress, as much as possible.

They are making leaps and bounds into the causes of miscarriages, get referral to specialists.

I never say, someone is having a baby, I always say, they are pregnant, I really hope you have a baby, all the luck in the world to you.

Bloody hell Quote, what you've been through Thanks

OP: I assume you've had recurrent mc testing? I had it after 3 in a row and they found nothing. Then had two children, then another mc and then third child. It's heartbreaking. If they haven't found any cause for it then hopefully you'll get there soon, good luck.

I have had three mcs in a row. It's nearly broken me, I can't imagine how you must be feeling after five. I'm sure you feel utterly desperate and desolate, but I will... was going to say keep my fingers crossed for you, but that just sounds so flip.

Thanks for you

I had three in a row. Fell pregnant with four while tests were being done which was successful. Fifth was another miscarriage, 6th successful. All miscarriages were at 12 weeks and ERPC.

Meant to say that it is bloody hard emotionally and physically. You need to take care of yourself and give yourself time and space. There is always hope, but please do push for medical help via gp!

V sorry Armadale. I had DS1, MC, DS2, 3 MC. Recurrent miscarriage testing after MC3 showed nothing, told it was just bad luck, tried again, lost an embryo at 8 weeks that was genetically tested as perfect, went private to get NK testing and have been diagnosed with high levels of NK cells. Now pregnant on steroids, clexane, progesterone, folic acid, but still in my danger zone of 8-10 weeks so remains to be seen if it works.
It's pathetic that after their "bad luck" line they run out of things to say.

armadale I'm so sorry for your losses. Do be kind to yourself.

I really hope you have been offered some tests and medical help?

My friend had 7 mcs and then with help from Prof Lesley Regan at St Mary's in Paddington had 2 successful pregnancies.

My cousin's wife had a son, then lost six in a row, ranging from a couple of months to about five months. They have just had another perfectly healthy son a few weeks ago, carried to full term, fairly uneventful pregnancy AFAIK.

Oh thank you all so much for posting Thanks

No-one answered for the first hour or so, so I gave up looking, thinking there would be no replied...I just came back to close the computer down for the night and saw all the lovely posts.

So sorry for you who have had loses too but it really has helped me to read your stories.

Quote your courage in keeping going is quite remarkable, and it is so amazing to hear about your last two pregnancies.

BakingTins, I see you posting on MC boards a lot, and am always touched by how much you give to the posters on those threads. I really hope the next 2 weeks passes quickly and safely for you and you get out of that danger zone unscathed.

I have had some tests, there appears to be a clotting issue but the last 2 (before this one) were apparently one off genetic things. They are testing this one as well, so might know more when the results come back wrt what to do next.

Am at Thomas' and they very kindly offered me so counselling today which I hope might stop me going as low after this one. I rang up and left a message and when I said 'I've had five MC' it suddenly just hit me and I couldn't even think what my own phone number is, so I made a right idiot of myself on the message....nevermind I'm sure they have heard it all before

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had 4 miscarriages at 13 weeks and 2 early on. I was also diagnosed with clotting issues after the first 5 miscarriages and started on aspirin and heparin, but still lost another baby. I then went on to become pregnant with twins, and nearly lost them twice. Against the odds I gave birth at 37 weeks to two beautifully healthy little girls, who are now 2 years old. Only other people who have been through this can possibly understand how heartbreaking each loss was, and how miraculous it now is to have such amazing little girls. Don't lose hope yet...

There are some inspiring stories on here and I hope they give hope to everyone that reads them.
I am currently overdue with my 5th pregnancy, after 1 mmc and 3 mc's.

I had tests after my 3rd to find PCO and I lost weight for my 5th pregnancy, I had my 4th mc during testing.

Good luck to everyone x

Hello yes : had DC1 then I had 5 early miscarriages (4 consecutively). I'm now 33 weeks with DC2.

I went to see Dr Trew at 92 Harley street. He did the tests and found I had adhesions which I had surgically removed. I highly recommend him.

Don't give up hope. Clearly something is working and something is not! Glad you are getting tested.

Hi op, yes my friend at work had ds, then 5 miscarriages, then had given up, then dd. We have ds, just had 1st mc 2 weeks ago, and during 'those' conversations, sister in law's best friend informed me her mum had 14 mcs between her and her sister........not sure i would have the strength to go through that and keep trying.
All my positive thoughts are with you and yours, look after you and hubby/partner
Xxx

Sorry to hear you have gone through five miscarriages. We had six consecutive miscarriages then I had our daughter who is now 20 months old. It is so hard to keep going and you do wonder just how much more you can take. I think it shows how strong we all are, and our partners that we can keep going. Thanks and positive thoughts for you.
