Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Another thing they don't tell you...

is that years later after three miscarriages it hurts like hell when you clear out the loft of all the carefully stored baby stuff from the one successful pregnancy and finally say goodbye the babies that should have been, could have been... and those that were here so briefly and didn't get a chance to wear this, and this....at least I have my DD, my one and only consolation.
My heart breaks as well for those that don't even have that comfort.

You're so right. My loft is like a baby-themed Miss Havisham's house.

So sorry to hear what you've been through.

My store room is like that...my DD's travel cot, highchair, pushchair, carseat, bath seat and rocker about 2 black bin bags worth of clothes - all waiting to be used once again. I threw out about 3 bags worth of DD's old clothes after my last miscarriage, positive that I wont be having another live baby again. It's heart breaking. I bought all my DD's things thinking they'd be used again by her little brother or sister a couple of years later....:( I am sorry for what you have been through x

Me too. Half our flat is full of DDs stuff, sitting there rotting away. All her clothes/maternity clothes went after my last loss but hanging on to the rest. Not sure why....

Miss HAvisham is about right....

I am postponing that horrid horrid task.

I am still squirrelling away stuff DS has grown out of.

Don't know why as it will make the task even harder when I do feel brave enough.

I have also had 3MMCs since DS. He is 3 later this month, we started TTC the month he turned 1. More crucially though I am now 43 and haven't had a sniff of a BFP in 7 cycles. Time's virtually run out.

But the thought of finally truly acknowledging that fact and accepting it is finally truly over makes me feel totally sick :(

I empathise with you all. Frankly it's shit.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one feeling this. I am still bagging up and storing dd's stuff, and running out of room. She's 3.8yrs. That's a lot of clothes etc stacking up........

Don't worry Norfolk, they start wearing them out before they outgrow them at around 7 or 8.... gives you some idea of the mammoth task I have ahead of me!

I had a good howl into a babygrow, feel much better now (she lies).....

By the way, I'm only doing it because DH is making me - he wants the loft back to do something or another...

I've finally taken the decision to put all our baby stuff and maternity clothes on Ebay and it's been so painful. Like you Cambington, I've got a ds and have had 3 mcs since. I couldn't quite bring myself to get rid of all the baby clothes so have packed up some special bits and bobs and taken them to my mum's, just in case. But I agree, it's horrible.
