Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

10 weeks Blood in mucus

Had a bit of this on and off for a week, but not enough to cause worry. Last 24 hours I've had period like pains as well.

Telling myself that if it doesn't get worse this is within normal range (is it?)

I have a appointment on Wed so was going to wait until then. Is it worth seeing someone before or is it just a case of wait and see?

Sorry not really sure what I'm asking

Hi PenguinArmy. Sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time.

Period-like pains and cramping do happen in the first trimester, and a show of blood is not necessarily a sign of an MC.

But if the period-like pains get so bad that you need to take a painkiller, or the blood is bright red, as opposed to a dull, dark brown, then I would go to the Early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital to get checked out, if only for peace of mind.

Hope everything turns out OK.

Thanks. I didn't have anyone of this in my last pg.

Trying not to worry but it's hard to put it to the back of your head. Especially when you're on your own at work

It is really difficult to avoid thinking about the worst when you are by yourself.

But every pg is different, so the fact that you didn't experience any of these symptoms in a previous normal pg doesn't mean that this pg isn't normal, or that there is a problem.

How uncomfortable are the period-like pains?

Thanks, looking forward to a day off tomorrow.

They're not too bad at all, I'm most likely panicking over nothing. Every so often I have to pause what I'm doing, but not had nothing for a few hours.

Thanks for the company and sounding board, will try and update (hopefully after my appointment)

You're welcome - uncertainty is scary, and especially when you are by yourself.

Hope you have a lovely day off, and you don't have any more cause for concern.

And do let me know how you get on at your appointment on Wednesday (and before, if you need anything). Heaps of luck to you.

Thanks, I seem fine today, a few twinges but not much.

DD has just had an hour nap and now we're heading out for lunch (in the pouring rain)

Glad to hear you're not worse, Penguin.

Enjoy your lunch (I'm assuming you're not living on a different continent to me - Europe- if you're going out to lunch at 7.30 my time!).

hi all,

check up was today. They seem OK about it :) and I have a scan next week

I've not had bleeding now for 3 days and no cramps (well not like I was having) for nearly 2 days as well.

So would like to thank you all again for holding my hand and hopefully things will continue to go well.

So pleased to hear that you had a good check up today. Hope your scan puts your mind at rest completely, and allows you to stop worrying (quite so much).

Good luck - and do come back and say how your scan goes next week.
