First af 3 weeks after mmc?!

Help! (please)

I was diagnosed with a mmc on the 11th feb, I thought I was 11 weeks but baby hadn't made it past 8. The day before I'd had a tiny amount of spotting, but no proper bleeding. I was given the first half of medical management which led to a bit more spotting, then had the pessaries on the 13th, I bled loads that day and passed a lot of tissue.

After that I bled for about a week, then had brown discharge on and off for another week. I took a hpt on the 22nd which was still positive, on the 1st march it was negative. Last Monday (28th) I had a follow up scan, it showed my uterus was empty.

Anyway, first thing this morning I started bleeding fresh blood with clots. I phoned the gynae ward where I was treated and spoke to a nurse who said it's probably af. It just seems too soon to me, had anyone else experienced this?!

Thank you x

I had a mmc in January, and got my first af 4 weeks to the day! But I was told it could be anything from 2-6 weeks. I think it's to do with your hormones how quickly you ov again.

Hope you're ok and so sorry for your loss xx

Thanks harassed. I'm glad my body's getting itself back to normal but it seems a bit unfair tho, I've only had a week free from bleeding!

Good luck x

Hi, I had a mmc in January and had the medical management on 2nd February. I started my period on 3rd March, and I too only had a week of not bleeding.
I think it is normal, and when they saw the "empty uterus" they must have been referring to there not being any sac or left over tissue - the lining must have been building up since your medical management.

Sorry for your loss - but even though bleeding is a pain, at least it shows your body is in good working order. Take care xx

Hi meliesmummy I had a D&C in May last year, bled for about a week and spotted for a few days (lasting about 12 days) and my AF came exactly 3 weeks after my D&C and then 28 days thereafter. It sounds as though your body is getting back to normal quickly. Hope everything works out for you and sorry you had to go through this. x

Thanks for your replies.

I only really bled for a day, followed by 2 days of pink/ brown mucousy spotting, it was also pain free, which is unusual for me. Im putting it down to my cycle being so short. Is that how it was for all of you? And will the next one be really heavy to make up for it?!

i m/c'd at 7wks and bled for about 8 days. AF turned up 3wks and 3days after start of m/c. It was much lighter and pain free that month. Since the m/c (9mths ago now) my periods are much clottier (sorry tmi) and can be much heavier.

My af was quiet normal that time and went back straight away. However I had a mc in Jan at 15 weeks and my af took 5 weeks with lots of spotting after so I'm abit of a mess this time. Basically I think every mc and person is different each time and as long as you don't have any pain or a high temperature it is probably your body getting back to normal. I know how frustrating it is when it doesn't go straight back to normal because after everything that has happenned you need to know yourself that you're body is still working properly. I keep being told that it is and it will but it takes time. I hope you get sorted v.soon. Take care x

I'm sorry to hear that lucky. I just hate having no control over what's going on, and not knowing what's happening is really difficult. Fx things get back to normal for you soon too x

More help please!

The bleeding stopped after 3 days then restarted, I'm a week on from the first heavy loss and am intermittently passing fresh blood and light brown mucous...does this sound normal? I just want things to get back to normal and feel as if they never will.

Thanks x
