I'm perimenopausal and over the past week or so have begun to have intermittent stabbing pains in my breasts. trey have grown 2 cup sizes in the last 6 months or so too. is this normal or should I worry? I'm 44.

This doesn't sound like anything to do with menopause.
Have you put weight on overall, or started taking any other hormonal meds like the Pill? Are your boobs getting bigger as part of fluid retention during the 2nd half of your cycle?

Actually I had this stabbing pain and dull aches/pulling feeling in boobs (one more than the other), and the doctor thought it was part of perimenopause. I had gained a little weight, but not much, but boobs had got bigger. Had mammogram etc - all fine. Breast doctor recommended high doses of Evening Primrose oil. I am now on HRT too. Only occasional boob aches now. Definitely worth getting checked out and make sure you are wearing the right size bra - that will make a huge difference.

I went up 4 cup sizes over a couple of years!! Apparently it's quite normal due to hormone changes around menopause time. I had never heard that before. I now have stabbing, eye watering pains in my right boob. Mammogram tomorrow.
