Painful "Brown" bleeding inbetween periods.

I recently had a 4 day period which is unusual for me. For the last couple of days I've also been losing brown stuff & it's quite painful.
I'm also extremely tired, I drink plenty of fluids yet it feels dry "down there". There's a sensation that's not quite burning but weird.
Any ideas?

Not sure what you are saying? Was this a 4-day bleed outside your normal period / cycle? Or was it a period that then became different in colour and flow?

Sounds like typical peri meno if it's an irregular cycle- and the dryness will most likely be a result of low oestrogen- google vaginal atrophy. The best thing it to go and see your dr to have a chat and maybe try some vaginal oestrogen if they agree to help with the dryness and burning.

It is most likely the start of irregular cycles. You should keep a diary of when your periods are coming and take along to your GP to discuss. It's most likely peri meno at 48 but they may want to do some checks to make sure that's all it is.
