Peri or pregnant?

I'm 42 and have always had regular periods. In the past 6 months I have had 2 that were 3 weeks apart. So was expecting period 2 weeks ago but nothing. So now I'm one week past a normal period due date (so 5 weeks since last period). I know that erratic cycle length can be a sympton of peri. It would be highly unlikely that I'm pregnant. Only DTD once and then with a condom. Doing a test feels like a waste of money, I'd be better off peeing on a tenner. Is this how it's going to go? I don't feel like my period is coming but I also don't feel pregnant.
Obviously only a test can tell but wondering if anyone else went through something similiar?

I only DTD once at the 'wrong time' of my cycle to be PG- and now I had a 26 year old child.

Do a PG test. And use contraception if you don't want another baby. :)

sorry- I thought you said without a condom.

You still ought to do a test to be sure.

It is likely to be how it goes so maybe think about some other type of contraception if you want something more reliable?

Ah yes - I went through a phase of that - bought a load of cheap tests from boots, so that I could have peace of mind. A bit embarrassing at 50, but doubt I am the only one!
