Hi
Just wondered, as I'm of a certain age, and have missed a period and done preg test (neg).

I still had cramps before the period was due and, since it didn't turn up
I still feel slightly crampy. When menopausal do we still get the feelings that we're about to "come on"

Thanks!

Oh.... yes this is very common! Your hormone levels fluctuate erratically throughout the peri-menopause and this can cause pmt symptoms even when there is no ovulation, or if there is insufficient progesterone produced to allow a bleed, or sometimes when it is delayed.

There is a really good article here on the Menopause Matters website which explains it all "The Perils of the Peri-menopause" and how all the hormones work, and how they begin to stop working.

www.menopausematters.co.uk/article-perils-of-the-perimenopause.php

Really all to be expected so not to worry! It's the shape of things to come - and we all experience it differently!
