hi all
im46 next month&had my last child5yrs ago
periods always have been&still are pretty regular.in last couple of yrs i can sometimes be a wk late or once or twice a wk early!
but in last few months its finished then a week later it starts again but v light&only for a day or
few hrs then goes again&thats it!
its happened4times now though not consecutively
this has never ever happened before so am wondering if this could be the start of 'the change'?
i used to get really moody&irritable on the run up to period but that seems to have lessened slightly though still there a bit but recently have started to get more weepy too over anything!
anyone elde like this?

Yes is the answer to all of the above! Def. sounds like peri meno.

No.

Drs won't routinely test for peri meno unless you are having terrible symptoms which could indicate some other health issues - not meno.

Blood tests during peri meno are unreliable due to your hormones being all over the place- even by the hour.

You don't need to see your GP about meno at all unless you feel you want to try HRT at some point if you have quite severe symptoms.

Hi there. I'm same age as you and had all the above symptoms and my Dr prescribed me Elleste duet 1mg... I'm hoping after taking these my head will stop spinning and my husband can return from the shed where he's been hiding for the last 6 months :-)

May I join you? Smile

47 and suddenly realised haven't had a period for 3 mths and the waves of heat are not actually due to hot weather.....

I don't have to do anything then? (am in Italy where everything is so medicalised, people keep telling me to go to the doc, get this medicine, that vitamin) I feel fine, just a bit wow, it's really happening, am getting oooooold. Grin

baby- it's a waste of time having blood tests- the best test is to try HRT if you want to, and if it works, success- that's what you needed! Honestly, if they test your hormones every day for a month they would give different readings- they are not reliable.
