BBC Radio 4 media request: "just managing" families

Hello,

We've had a request for a case study from Rebecca Teulet, a producer with The World Tonight on BBC Radio 4.

Rebecca's looking for one or two case studies for a piece on the so-called "just managing" families Theresa May has said she'll be prioritising.

According to the Resolution Foundation, these are ‘low to middle income’ families where at least one member of the family works but do not receive means-tested benefits – only tax credits and many of these workers earn less than £21,000. Their biggest outgoing is housing - around 25%. They have little left at the end of the month after main outgoings and many have less than a month’s net income in savings.

They're anticipating a short radio report recorded in the home -- for instance over a cup of tea with the World Tonight presenter, Ritula Shah. If you'd be interested in taking part, or have any questions, please email Rebecca on rebecca.teulet@bbc.co.uk or call her on 0203 614 1555.

We at MNHQ don't have any further details about this and Rebecca won't necessarily be monitoring the thread, so if you have any questions please contact her directly.

Thanks,
MNHQ
