I am currently in my second year of uni studing Education and Disability Studies ant Sheffiled Hallam University. I have been given an assignment to do which entails me looking at the following question a case study of a family where one or more persons is labelled with an impairment. It will focus on the perspective of one family member, explore the role of advocacy and analyse the impact that impairment and disablement within the family has on the status of family in society. I was wondering whether anybody would be interested in recounting a real life story of your experiences. I would pick one to focus my essay on. Names will be taken out and changed (unless you want otherwise). And you'll have a chance to read the essay at the end.
