Hi, my name is Julie Hannan and I am an accredited psychotherapist. I am currently researching the experience of postnatal depression (pnd) in mums who were aged over 30 when they had their first child. Postnatal depression can affect 1 in 7 new mothers and in recent years 47 % of all births in the UK were to women aged 30 or over and no research to date has solely examined what the experience of pnd is like for these women.
The aim of my research is to provide a deeper understanding of what it is like to be postnatally depressed and aged 30 and over in order to guide future help and treatment for mums in this position. If you are based around the West Midlands and interested in speaking with me, then please get in touch. Further details can be found on my website www.morency.co.uk
