I have chosen to mostly respond to lynniep's comments because they encompass many of the others. My responses are underlined so as to differentiate.

and yes - question 19 is confused -there are ways to transport baby, places for baby to sleep, contraptions for baby just to lie there or rock - some are suitable for multiple purposes.
_This is true. I just wanted a general idea of how much these pieces of equipment are used. I agree that this covers different functions, so perhaps I could have

question 20 - What was your preferred way to carry your child before he/she learned to walk? - do you mean to 'transport' your child - or literally carry on your person?
I meant transport, as in do they use prams, or arms, or slings, for example.

question 25 -also found a bit confusing. It takes a while to breastfeed an infant - a young one can take up to an hour for a feed. I would feed my newborn every 2-3 hours (of which most of an hour would be taken up feeding)
I did not ask a question about feeding duration but it would have been interesting, and perhaps I should have.

question 26 - do you mean weaned completely off? A baby still needs milk after it begins weaning (i.e. when it introduced to 'food') and this can take many months
I meant complete weaning. To be honest I was mostly interested in asking about weaning of those that breastfed, as it's more relevant to my study, but I included a box for bottle feeding too. You're right that I could have made the question clearer.

Completed survey. Agree with points made above re: carriers, weaning etc. But also on your final page with the parenting style questions two of your 5 answers are the same "I've heard the name but know little about it" unless I misread.

Completed on previous thread and as mentioned on that thread I agree with others your survey really needed to proof read as it is not very clear in places and questions are phrased very oddly.

i agree you need to make more use of the various ways that people identify and describe their culture/ethnicity and this will give you rich data and variables for analysis

I've done it but I think if the focus is how your culture affects the way you parent, then there should be a bit more about that. I answered the question about my ethnicity but there was nowhere to say if your family was from another culture.

Hi, survey completed. The multi-choice question on baby carrying seems to have been confused with the baby sleeping location question. I don't normally carry my baby in a cot!
