Have you tried parenting techniques to treat autism?

I'd like to talk to parents who use or have used techniques to attempt to improve their child's autism. I'd like to hear from people on all sides of the debate - people who feel it worked, or didn't work and that autism just isn't something that can be treated. Their child may be still young, or in their teens or even young adulthood.
This is for an article in the Daily Mail and we could send you your quotes before the piece runs to check through for accuracy.
Many thanks

Things that helped fish oils and social stories.

Things that didn't - gf/cf diet.

I don't believe that you can treat autism, but I do think that you can use strategies to minimise the impact of autism.

I didn't read the OP properly and have now noticed it is for the Daily Mail - if I'd noticed this in the first place then I wouldn't have bothered replying, but as I started and your £30 helps fund the site then I posted.
